His loss, hope he does end up at the chickenshirts, best place for him.

Can't say I'm too upset, no way is he worth all that dosh. Anyway we don't need him seeing as we're keeping Tevez ;)

Why was egg going to pay so much?? I mean are u guys selling tevez or was this just to fill a big need. Looks like he wants to come to spurs based on that he turned u down. Prolly a good thing for both of our clubs casue now u will have a crap load of money left to do as you please with. GL.

I am a bit disappointed but I did always suspect that he would prefer Spurs to us. He just strikes me as that sort of bloke. Looking for immediate success ahead of building it gradually with us. Not that he will find immediate success at Spurms of course!!:D

Still if a player doesn't agree personal terms with us at a time when we are throwing the dosh around like Roman at a jumble sale then that speaks volumes about his attitude to me. Perhaps it was a lucky escape for us on that front.

I'd have Mido over Bent any day of the week.

Oh, sounds a bit gay, but you know what I mean.

How does this leave the Jermain DeFoe situation?

I for one would not welcome Judas back. I can't stand disloyalty - I know that makes me an acronistic has been but there you go.

Anyhoo, Bent is no way worth that amount of cash.

I'm a bit disappointed that he hasn't signed after all the indications seemed positive. However, I'm glad that he hasn't joined if he has his heart set on the Spurms or somewhere else. Shelling out 75-80K a week on someone whose heart isn't really in it would have hurt more.

If he's made his decision on that basis then I'll respect that - at least it shows he's not just in it for the money.

Anyone know if Saviola is still available? He'd be mustard and would be a good companion for Tevez. Would he accept 80K a week cos I reckon he's worth that figure far more than Bent.

I suppose that leaves the following available strikers:

Defoe
Mido
Bellamy
Yakubu
Nugent...?

I know the list gradually weakens but I am struggling now.

Personally I would have Defoe back. All he did was hand in a transfer request at the wrong time. It was an insult at the time but I am sure his agent was mostly to blame for that. As a person he is a bit young and naive to do this through his own malicious intent. I think he would come back to us as well if the offer was right.

I have to admit, I am glad we didn't get Bent (lol). I thought that was too much money for him. I can see paying for quality players, but the return on investment seemed suspect to me.

That is a high number to pay out.

The way I see it is ....

Dean Ashton was well worth his price being the next big superstar from england. Benayoun was a bargin at the price whu bought him. Tevez is a great link up, but he might leave. Green is a player u must hold on to. One big name player would be great, Bent is good, very good, but 17m is alot of money, , , , ,Who else is in that price range?

Bellamy would be nice.
