Willow Flood "lifted the lid on his battle to shine amid the blood and thunder of the English Championship where all too often physical strength comes before skill."?!

What does he expect to encounter in the SPL? Defenders who moisturise?;)

Craig Levein says "I know the game down there is all about who's got the biggest, most athletic teams. There's not a lot of football played so guys like Willo miss out a lot as the ball is in the air so much."

So why buy him for the SPL, is it a sedate wee league with lots of silky 'continental' play? Don't think so!

Hibs have a couple diminutive types that do pretty well.

True but DU has been a very poor club the last few years. He should have looked at Hibs or Dons rather than DU IMO.

That may well be--I'm not really familiar with the player. I'm always happy for the smaller teams when they get some talent though.

Cardiff City have Willo as a 5' 7", 10st 6lb Defender but when transferring to them from Man City he was referred to as a Right-winger worth £200k.

Can't see Craig Levein playing him as a Full-back but I reckon he'll be a bit lightweight for the SPL?

146lbs isn't frail for a 5'7" player. I'm guessing wingback.

I reckon if he's an Ivan Sproule type wide man he'll get pretty familiar with the advertising hoardings pretty quickly. I'd like to see him do well but fear he's leapt from the frying pan of the Championship to the raging fire of the SPL!
