This is a question I always wanted to ask, but never have. Since your inception, have memberships in the Midnight Riders increased, decreased, or stayed the same?

It's increased. We had a pretty good number back in the day, but then it dropped tremendously over a couple of years down to it's low point in 1999. We almost disbanded in 2000, but certain people stepped up and now I believe we're at the highest membership level we've ever been at.

Monty's correct. There were good numbers in the first couple of years, probably in the range of 200-300 members, but that dropped considerably around 1999-2000 when the team's fortunes were not improving nor was the in-stadium experience or relationship with the front office; the Riders lost a lot of good, dedicated members who'd just had enough. However, new leadership, improved relations with the front office, better on-field results, more aggressive outreach efforts, and new fans have helped the organization's membership swell. I don't know the current numbers (Jon probably does), but I'm certain the membership is the highest it's ever been.

An unofficial look at the numbers, we had 392 members last year, and we're at 395 this year. My hope is obviously to get up to 400 members this year. Not bad considering I was originally thinking we'd have a small drop off due to losing our primo parking spot.

Can I pay for membership in person or through paypal/credit card? Would like to do my part to help, even if it is only $10.

This past week the Midnight Riders were proud to welcome their 400th member for the 2007 season.
We have already surpassed our previous high of 394 set just last year.
In addition, we have also surpassed our previous high of 91 family memberships by 5, with a good portion of the season remaining to be played.
Here is some recent data (I have only information dating back to 2003 in my current spreadsheet):

Stupid question perhaps, but are there any other Revolution Supporters groups?

1. Rev Army, sits in the fort, but about Row 15. Tailgate in a dirt lot across the street. Some people are in both groups. They have a myspace page, if you search this forum you will find it (I'm lazy right now).
2. "The quiet army" Sit outside the fort, have a running competition to see who can make the least noise. However, they do pay for tickets, which helps everyone, so as long as they are happy, we're happy! ;)

Damn tootin'! :)
As one of the very very few who belong to both groups, it is fun to be on both sides and play a role not only as a superfan, but to reach out into the community (as we did recently with the golf tourney). The main difference is that there are no membership dues in the Rev Army and they park in their own lot across Rte 1. I, for one, tend to be very loud, as are many of my compatriots. But we're pretty cool!
