Does another multi-country top-flight soccer league exist? USL doesn't count as an answer even though half of their team could may a playoff run in the MLS.

definite:

the New Zealand Knights played in the A-League last year, which is top flight Australian footie. the Knights (based in Auckland) folded, but a new franchise is starting in Wellington and they too will be in the A-League.

potentially:

at least one Welsh team does actually play in one of the English leagues, but they aren't top flight of course. they could theoretically get there though.

maybe:

South Africa has a league and if Lesotho or Swaziland has a team I'm betting they play in South Africa's League.

there are probably other similar situations.

I'd never really thought about it but it's a very rare occurance.

AS Monaco plays in the French league.

yeah, good one there. and if there's a team in Luxumbourg or Lichtenstein I bet they play in France/Germany or Switzerland, respectively.

I wouldn't say it's "very rare." indeed, we're talking about two big Euro leagues, the US and Australia as definites, with a lot of strong possibilities elsewhere.

take Wales off the list then because they are seperate only in name. Same for Scotland and N. Ireland.
That ups the rare factor:p

Does Canada really count as a different country.....really? I mean, come on...they are basically our half-retarded cousins.

definitely a different country. If they weren't our geographical neighbor then they would probably be an "almost enemy" much like France attempts to be from time to time.

I say there are nothing more than a bunch of states we didn't want to admit into the union. They are like Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Apeshit? Hardly. I just don't recognize their existence as anything other than a United States by-product. It's like G-d created the USA, but when he was done he had a bunch of left over parts....so he made Canada.

Seventh seems to think I'm a socialist, how strange... well, the only thing I feel the need to argue in this thread is the appalling lack of historical accuracy, but I'll let it go.

Explains why Canada is such a nice country while we're only so/so most of the time.
