This is my #1 relegation candidate for the season......selling eriberto, Manfredini, Corradi, etc. and buying no players they probably whould be considering their placement in the league and who they sold, this team is dead, unless De Neri or what's his face the coach can work magic for another season....

SoccerAge (http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/g6792.html)Andersson Joins Chievo On Loan

Uefa Cup hopefuls Chievo Verona have followed up their signing of Oliver Bierhoff by completing the acquisition of Sweden midfielder Daniel Andersson on a one-year loan deal from AC Venezia.

Chievo have revealed that the agreement includes an option allowing them first rights on the 25-year-old upon completion of the season and that midfielder Fabio Firmani has agreed to move the other way on similar terms in order to facilitate the deal.

Serie A side Chievo Verona have been stunned by the news that Brazilian star Eriberto has been playing under a false identity.

The club have released a statement to confirm that the midfielder's name is actually Luciano Sicuera De Oliveira - not Eriberto Da Conceicao Silva, as they had been led to believe. It also transpires that the player is in fact 26-years-old, while his passport under the name of Eriberto states he is 23.

Chievo president Luca Campedelli announced in statement on Friday: "As the result of a fax transmitted on 22 August 2002 to the club from Vicencote Representacoes Profissionais (the player's representatives), Chievo Verona has learned the identity and date of birth of it's midfielder is in fact Luciano Sicuera De Oliveira (previously known as Eriberto Da Conceicao Silva).
"Chievo Verona reaffirms their the moral and legal support to its soccer player."

It is understood that the player, who grew up in an orphanage in Brazil, assumed the identity in order to enhance his chances of getting a club back in Brazil. He joined Bologna from Palmeiras four years ago, and achieved prominence in Chievo's stunning performance in Serie A last term.

The player had been set for a move to Lazio last week until the League refused to recognise the Rome club's financial provisions to pay his transfer fee.

Eriberto, or Luciano, made the decision to reveal his true identity after consulting with his lawyers and family back in Brazil this week.

SoccerAge (http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/h0247.html)Marazzina Stays Loyal To Chievo

Chievo Verona's Uefa Cup hopes have received a boost with the news that their star striker Massimo Marazzina has decided to put pen-to-paper on a new four-year contract.

This puts an end to the speculation that the 28-year-old Italian international is in line for a move to Parma AC to make up for the void left by Marco Di Vaio, who agreed to join Juventus just a few days ago.

SoccerAge (http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/h2094.html)Serie A Preview: Lazio-Chievo Verona

What could have been an ambitious campaign for Lazio turned into something radically less glamorous. The 2000 Serie A champions lost two key players on August 31 in the shape of Hernan Crespo and Alessandro Nesta, off respectively to Inter and AC Milan.

SoccerAge (http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/h2096.html)Serie A Prediction: Lazio-Chievo Verona

It will take all of Gigi Del Neri's wizardry to lift Chievo to last year's levels. Depleted as they are now and spearheaded by an out-of-form Oliver Bierhoff, any sort of coup looks improbable in the Olimpico.

Chievo deserves a place in the team forums from last year. They'll get it soon, but they won't go far this season

www.soccerage.com says that Chievo might get Corradi back. Wow, has this guy traveled. From Chievo to Inter to Lazio in one summer, and now he might go back to Chievo!
