I was alerted to this article on a sports website by a friend of mine, I have never read such nonsense in my life, what do you think???

The guy thinks that Liverpool deliberately lost the Champions League Final..
from his article:-

"Impossible theory? Laughable? Stupid? I can hear the chorus now. And in the background I can hear the defenders of the proud Liverpool say that even if Rafa had such intention, none of the players would agree.

Really? Stalwarts like Jamie Carragher, Xabi Alonso (http://www.sportingo.com/xabi-alonso/6,910) and Steven Gerrard (http://www.sportingo.com/steven-gerrard/6,840) - all lynchpins of his Liverpool side - would agree that winning the Champions League would be nice, but nothing beats winning the Premiership. What’s the point of being a champion in Europe when you aren’t even that at home? Especially when you have one winners medal already"

I never heard anything so bizarre..

Not sure about serious but has a few points in there like :-

"Carragher, a formidable defender and organiser, couldn’t hold his line against a 33-year-old has-been when the defence had quite convincingly kept the likes of Chelsea, Didier Drogba and the entire Barca team quiet"

Liverpool had no chance in the league. The CL was their only chance at hardware. Why would any team pass that up and throw the game. Ridiculous theory, really.

I agree, crazy to assume that any club would want to throw a game based upon money.

The Manager is only in charge before and after, the players would have had to throw it.
