If true, that makes it 3 or 4 Gold Cups in a row (2002?, 2003, 2005, 2007) that's happened in addition to 1 or 2 other times in previous editions (2000 instead of 2002?).

NOt really on topic, but i really think that..... had Galindo been allowed to play for Cuba again...Mexico would be in sop much trouble right now, with perhaps one point instead of 3

I saw the story about the Haitian U17's taking off in NY (http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/6919408?MSNHPHMA) but I haven't seen any coverage about the Cubans yet.

Make that 3-0. Pavon with the header of the corner.

Wow, Honduras is all over Cuba at the moment... Still 2-0, but that chip almost went off the crossbar, too.
3-0 now. Hat trick for Pavon. I'm not sure, but I think it may be impossible to play weaker defense than Cuba are playing tonight. Then again, Honduras have wasted some fantastic opportunities (like a 4-on-1 break a few minutes ago).

What a frustrating soccer nation, Honduras. Just like the beautiful woman you pick up, but when you get her home and she washes off her makeup, what a plain Jane she's turned out to be. It seems like during every WC cycle we're titillated by the potential and promise, and then poof, it all disappears. It may be that they'll surprise in the Gold Cup- I mean when it counts, but we've been disappointed before.

So its all going to come down to whether Mexico wins tonight - a draw or non-giant loss would put them in Foxboro Saturday.

I dont have a link but the Spanish commentators on Telefutura were talking about it...
They were talking about how Cuba are missing 3 players, one from suspension and the other two defected from the team.

if they win they'll finish second in the group, stay in Houston and play Costa Rica. If they win that they'd probably have a rematch with Honduras. Things are getting interesting...
there's #4 for Pavon. Granted Cuba basically gave it to him but still--not bad! Sign this guy up!

Defenders, it would seem.

With Honduras crushing Cuba, I'm going to be in the strange and unfamiliar position of rooting for Mexico to win tonight. Even though I think we could ultimately take them, I'd prefer to get the relatively easier draw through to the final and face them there (though they well may not survive Honduras in the quarters, and no opponent of ours should be taken too lightly).

... Anyway, how old is Pavon, i remember him from his MFL days for quite a few years.... He'll be 34 in October.
On a Honduras related note, David Suazo was sold by Cagliari to Inter for €10M + some fresh water.

Nine goals thus far for Honduras and without Suazo.

Still not as good as us against Cuba in 2003 quarterfinals (5-0, four from LD).
