Eddie Johnson
Johnson is peaking at just the right time: He scored in that rather useless friendly against China and netted successive hat tricks for Kansas City before joining the national team camp. Good for him — Johnson deserves a little luck after having such a miserable 2006, and the Americans need him to be hungry in front of the net.
The one thing Johnson brings to the table is an ability to finish, an attribute that is in short supply in American soccer at the international level. For Johnson, the future is now.

i think actually that china play KC after the usa game...maybe hes talkin about that...i know i caught that statement too but i think i figured out what he was referring to. i knoew china was gonna play 2 friendlies vs mls teams..i thought one was colorado, cant remember the other though...can someone confirm?
just so theres no confusion here though...trecker sucks.

Let's not let one mistake obscure the crappiness of the article as a whole. Trecker seems to have a sore spot when it comes to the national team and wants to stick it to them with uncalled for comments. I think he needs to smile a bit more.

Wasn't Simek with Arsenal for a brief time? Trecker is an Arsenal fan so maybe that is why.

It's just more proof that he really doesn't watch the games.
I have said it before and I will say it again.......Trecker has an ax to grind with US Soccer in general and MLS in particular.
Why? He got turned down for a job with MLS and is bitter about it so he constantly writes negatively about US soccer and MLS........he is just a little bytch and you are doing him a favor by posting his comic article. He didn't even mention Bennie Feilhaber!
My favorite article of Trecker's was when he got a hot "scoop" that Jurgen Klinsman was about to hired by the USSF. Good job Jamie........you are a low-rent reporter.
