Now to the River game, the defense needs to get their shyt togther how in the hell can we loose a game in the final 5 minutes in the game?!
I said it when Ameli was sold its going to take RIVER a long time for its defense to get it together, sad but true.

Mistake #2 is not getting Matias Almeyda. This Cristian Ledesma he might give it all he gots but dam too many fouls and always on the border of getting red carded, thats not the type of player we need. Yes MAscherano will be back but what wil happen when he has to report to NT?

River despite having a good team needs to work alot and especially on defense.

Don't complain about losing such a difficult game. Highbury is always difficult ... more so to beat Arsenal, and one of the best attacking teams in the world ... Henry, Pires, Berkhamp, Reyes, Vieira.

Afterall ... you guys were 5 minutes away of beating a team who has not lost in 44 official matches in the EPL. :D

:p

I expected this kind of stuff if Boca had been victorious, but even in shameful defeat you can't resist barging in here with barbed comments.

Disgraceful.

We have every intention of kicking Mr. Henry's backside, if he shows up, all over Monumental during the second leg and moving on to the next round.

Leo,

Remember my River compadre. We were playing with 3 in the back and with Tula starting. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't have started him. Plus Gandolfi was starting also, with Nasuti. So, we really didn't have that veteran defender in the back, such as Tuzzio, as we probably should have. I didn't want to see Ameli go either, but as we all know, when a player of his nature leaves, another has to step up and take over the leadership role. I'm still not sold on having 3 in the back. We have too many young defenders to do so. I agree with you on Ledesma too. He keeps making stupid fouls. Probably still thinks he's playing in Germany. It's good to have our Olympians back though. Hopefully Jefecito and Lucho will be able to play Sunday. It just might add a spark.

I hear you bro en todo el sentido but if River is starting young players like Gandolfi and even Nasuti and why not Tula which all have good qualities but the leadership that Ameli had there is gone obviously,so why even play with 3 in the back if they are inexpierenced? I would rather have them play with a line of 4 and be more secured.I dont know, but I get pissed losing games like these especially in the last 5 minutes to a nobody team but thats soccer and the next step is to improve and kick the shyt out of racing ! ! !

La copa sudamericana (especialmente contra arsenal) es un experimento. Tratar nuevas cosas, jugadorese, jugadas etc... Ya para el domingo frente a racing todo vuelve a la normalidad.

Can someone please tell me what the situation is at Racing v River Plate? I only caught the very end of the half and my Spanish is limited. They suspended the game for a few minutes so the referee could talk with the police and stadium officials about the fans in the River end. It doesn't seem to be overcrowded and I haven't seen any violence or objects thrown...but it's obviously some sort of security concern.

Thanks

well since racing was playing alot better than river, river fans couldnt take it and decided to steal two balls and so the ref stopped the game for a couple of minutes. the ref said if one more ball is stolen the game will be suspended.

half time: 0-0

Haha! :D

Thanks for responding. Because of the amount of time it took to sort everything out you'd think they were planting bombs or something.

It turned out to be a pretty exciting game.

Dammit!! Looks like we got Bassi again this weekend against Estudiantes. Wasn't he the one that screwed us earlier in the Apertura when we played Banfield? When the Banfield player ran into Costanzo when he clearly had possession of the ball. He better have his "A" game on or else the hincha de River will steal more balls. :)

Doesnt matter whos the ref,RIVER has a better team and cant depend on shytty calls against them, now with Lucho and Mascherano in the line-up,River should become more dominant, inwhich I still think the defense still needs some work.Once againa foul, center, and gol.Enough of this shyt already.Salas is getting better and one can see the difference, may not be in the best shape of his life but he knows.I rather have him and MAxi Lopez up front and Sand on the bench despite he scored the winning gol vs Racing,I dont think hes a player for RIVER,I hope he proves me wrong but time will tell. All we need now is for Gallardo to be healthy and thats it.

This Estudiantes team can be tricky, but I don't think River should have a hard time taking the points.

Everytime I badmouth Sand before a game, he scores.

Arsenal 1 - 2 River Plate

Goles: Autogol by Mariano Brau, sliding the ball into the net after Limia couldn't handle a Gallardo shot from outside the box. Maxi Lopez with the winner at 87' as three Arsenal defenders stumbled around him.

River almost let this get away, but the defensive sloppiness of Arsenal opened the door. The victory was important, coming after Boca's 6-0 slaughter of Velez, allowing us to continue our hold on first position.

17- RIVER
16- Boca
13- Velez
12- Lanus, Estudiantes
11- San Lorenzo, Newell's, Gimnasia
10- Banfirld, Independiente, Quilmes
