You took it? Did you already get your scores?

I took it this morning and got my Verbal and Quantitative scores back immediately because it was the computer version. I guess I'll get my writing section scores in the mail in a few weeks, but they really won't do anything to help.

Are you SURE you did that bad? You can't look at it like you look at the SAT, as some grad schools just require a total score of like 800.

Other grad schools don't give a baker's f___ what your score is, as long as you took it.

But some do care. So really it depends on where you apply.

What are you going to study in grad school?

No clue. I would be going to state schools if I go, so maybe they weren't that bad.

What are you going to study in grad school?

Hopefully boobies.

More likely secondary eduction though. :(

Don't forget Zinn, you can take the GRE as many times as you want (once per month though). And since you took it so early, you have plenty of time to forget about it then take it again in like November. I mean, most grad school apps aren't due until the January 15 at the earliest.

Heck, I didn't even get into any grad schools the first time I applied. And look at me now!

I saw that video for the first time last night, but the problem with those things is it is exactly what I was expecting so it wasn't as funny.

Both times I've worn Newcastle gear in public in the last two months I've had a stranger go out of his way to react to it. Heck, back in the mid-90's I walked through Dallas airport wearing a Niners sweatshirt and no one said a word. I step out of the house with a Newcastle shirt or scarf and someone's yelling at me, either excitedly or derisively. This is awesome. :D

Many years ago I made the mistake of wearing a Juventus shirt in Milan. As I exited my hotel the receptionist slapped his forehead and said "Juventus?? Aye aye aye!" and groaned. I didn't know enough Italian to explain I wasn't really a Juventus supporter, however (or that I even knew where Juventus played).

BUT I did receive recognition for my Toon jersey a few years ago here in Carlisle, which brought a smile to my face.

However, when I go to Germany and Austria in a few weeks, I dare not wear any Bayern shirt outside of the München area (unless I'm in Austria, they don't seem to care).

I didn't know about the no-shirts rule in England and almost got denied at a London pub/restaurant for wearing a training kit. I convinced them to let me in because it was an Inter kit, and I just wore my jacket over it enough to not make it so conspicious and didn't go anywhere near the bar proper.

Same rule in Holland. Got denied access to a few bars in Rotterdam for wearing the Romanian sweatsuits.

Whoa whoa whoa I've never heard of such rules! Where can I find out more about these laws?

When I was in Vienna I wore my jerseys pretty regularly. What's up with England and Holland? And BMike, what if you were wearing a Feyenoord shirt? Would that be allowed? How about an Oranje shirt?

I'm very interested in this....

Same here. I've never heard of this before.

They aren't laws per se, more like widely accepted practices. Remember that link about Ashley nearly getting denied when clubbing because he was wearing a club shirt? That's the rule I'm talking about. It's designed to try and deter hooligans from causing trouble, pretty much, as far as I can tell. (Once the doorman realized I was an American, he explained that wearing my kit in the open was likely to lead to trouble, but that I'd probably be okay so long as I avoided the bar and covered it to a degree with my jacket.) It's more or less the same reason a lot of hostels in Europe don't welcome groups of more than six males. Anti-hooligan measures that seem to work pretty well.

Interesting. Yeah, that does make sense. I remember wearing my Juve shirt in a bar in Rome...no one said anything (if they did, I couldn't understand them). Probably not the smartest idea.

You'd think you'd be safe wearing an England shirt in England though. I wonder if that would've been banned.

Not related to the current conversation but I just got Dish Netwrok installed yesterday and kicked Comcast to the curb. I still have FSC but I added

Setanta
GOLTV
WorldSportHD
HDNET
ESPNU
Telefutura
Galavision
Univision

I can watch the following leagues now

La Liga
Bundesliga
BPL
Championship GOTW
Serie A
MFL
MLS Sunday night and HDnet games
Argentina
Brazil
Euro Qualifiers
USMNT U-17 and U-20 matchs

Holy crap that's a lot of footie.:D I think I'll start watching Serie A and La Liga.

BW what are the teams to watch in Germany this year? I want to see Heath Pierce play at Hansa and Dolo at Hannover. The only sad thing is I've just lost all incentive to go to the pub on Saturdays.:( I think between FSC and Setanta I'll get every BPL game played on the weekend or close enough to it and PIP will let me watch two games side by side.
