After about 7 or 8 Amstels I would be prancing around in my tutu.
Amstel is about 3rd on my list but it always a nice alternative when Newcastle or Beck's is not available.
Becks! Oh sweet jesus does this boy know nothing of the beer?

Sweet Moses, Chimay will F*CK you up. That's a potent beer.Good stuff especially the Chimay Red. I had a bottle of EKU 28 over in Germany that tasted like a liquor and it was 56 proof.(??) I can't seem to find it in the states though.

mpls, what is your favorite German beer?
Wow come to think of it,...I don't have one specific one( ), I'm more into the type, such as Hefewiezen, Dopplebock or oktoberfest, and that is often determined by the time of year, rather than a specific name. We have such a strong German brewing tradition locally (and where i grew up) that the local breweries tend to put out brews that are comparable to the Rhienheitsgetboot beers (did I spell that right?)
Got any recommendations?

For me the Spaten Octoberfest hands down is my favorite. Plus the Spaten Brau Haus was cool. It's really hard to choose with so many great beers and styles.
True story I want to Octoberfest in Munich with some guys in my Army unit and we went into some random beer tent filled with maybe a thousand people. We sit down at a table that looked like a long picnic table and start chatting some girls up and about 15 mins into our visit I look across the table and see my good friend from high school just drinking a beer with some of his friends. Weird but pretty cool.

Reinheitsgebot :D
If you like lagers, I have two favorite German lagers: Warsteiner (shut up Graeme, it's good!) and Dinkel Acker.
Favorite Hefeweizen is probably Franziskaner...but in September I'm going to Oktoberfest in Munich under the Hacker-Pschorr tent, so hopefully that's good.

Much to my wife's chagrin, I went out on BayernWake's recommendation and grabbed some Dinkel Acker. I will report as necessary,...
I did pick her up a nice Framboise as its been near 90 here so that should smooth things over rather nicely. That and The Broon are the only beer she drinks. I guess it could be worse, she could prefer the Schittoff Ice or Hypnotiq or some utter piss like that. Actually I think piss would taste better...but of course I am only speculating.

Gypsys with swords and cannons and that can't be a good thing.
Pirates Super Villians or Gypsy sailors in tights? Either way they get pawned by Ninjas.
