On a totally unrelated note....holy crap! (http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?&brand=null&videoId=3083220&n8pe6c=1)
Cool!
What the Patriots did today to my Redskins should be illegal.:(
Incidentally I DVR'd the game and watched it using the 30 second skip button and condensed it down into 15 or so minutes of action. I'll never watch another 3 hour NFL telecast again.

3 hour telecast of a 1 hour game....2 hours of which are advertising and inane commentary/comedy.
I have noticed there is an inverse proportion of a beers taste to its creative humor in its commercial: the worse a beer tastes the better its ad is.

TD, congrats on the new born. Enjoy the smiles he brings to your face and the few hours of sleep you'll get. Take'm when you can get man.
Jared, I can't even look at that picture with a straight face. WTF was he thinking. Couldn't he have, said "Hey I need a minute" or something. I mean was there a fluff girl. Come on.

It's pretty nice. It's currently snowing kinda heavily. The city itself is great.
As far as school is concerned, I have an ASSLOAD to do. Basically all I do is eat, sleep, read, and go to class. Then read some more. Hence why my time on BigSoccer has been decimated. :( Maybe I should be better with my time management...
I'm going to my first FC Red Bull Salzburg game in a week or so. I'll share my observations of the fanbase and atmosphere with all of you afterward.
I did go to an EC (Eishockey Club) Red Bull Salzburg game already. It was pretty sweet...they have 3 Canadians I think, one of which actually played for the Anaheim Ducks (Richard Jackman I think)!

Not only is a football match life or death struggle against the opposition its a fashion show as well.
Matching your Fiorentina violet face paint to your outfit down to the lining and trim on your down jacket takes a certain class and talent only Italians posses...
The crowd was apparently subdued due to the rioting in Bergamo and Rome earlier in the day, but still if that was subdued I would be amazed to see what "mob goes wild" would look like. Chants in unison, sit stand stand sit, biting fingernails, in tune singing, swearing, threats of random violence against sisters, wives and mothers were SOP for the well dressed families in the "really expensive" seats around us.
But especially unnerving was the hush that would fall over the crowd just as something mesmerizing happens. Which would suddenly be broken by a string of curses shouts and other exclaimations and frustartions when it went really wrong immediately after, which happened a lot.
I understand now: Calcio is about the build up to that one, dynamic cataclysmic event be it scoring, a fantastic pass that threads thru the defence, a swooping tackle, an elbow to the brain in Mutu's case or a stupid foul leading to a straight red card and potential death threats to the Fiorentina defender who had the brain fart.
Someone wins and some one loses, but who cares if you lose as long as you do it in style...
