Two quality games. And I've also heard that Borowski will be offered a lucrative 4 year contract.

According to Kicker, it's 10M now and could go as high as 15 depending on Bayern's performance this coming season.

And to be honest, I really doubt he's the idiot here......

no it's 12 M + bonuses.

you gotta read the article instead of just looking at some numbers:

Über die Ablösemodalitäten haben beide Vereine Stillschweigen vereinbart, die Münchner haben aber nach kicker-Informationen auf das ursprüngliche Angebot von 10 Millionen Euro noch zwei Millionen Euro draufgelegt. Die Summe für den Wechsel des Angreifers kann bei entsprechenden Erfolgen des Rekordmeisters noch bis auf 15 Millionen aufgestockt werden.

Of course you won't. Doesn't make the opinion any less relevant.

I just asked this question on my list and on the Bayern forum in other words.

Does anyone here believe Jan Schlaudraff is kicking himself in the ass for not signing with Werder now???

Jippie, the traitor leaves.
Good footballer without character.
I bet next season he recover his form.

So, snag, thank you for 2 1/2 good seasons.

Jan Schlaudraff ? - Ah, i remember, the new bench warmer at Munich.
No, serious, would have been more clever to stay at Aachen
or move to another team than Bayern.

At Werder i rate some others higher than him.

OK. But I just remember it came down to you guys and Bayern. And I thought he should have signed with you guys.

I didn't know Klose would be leaving, but I still thought he'd be better off at Werder.

And yes, when he signed with Bayern, I also said he'd be their next "Zickler". Meaning, a guy who wasted the best years of his career on their bench. Even with the injuries, Zickler should have gotten away from there long before he did. I think Schlaudraff will be the same. The happy benchwarmer.

Yes, there were some teams after him. Bayern made the highest offer,
that´s why he moved there. At least he won´t have financial problems
in the next years. ;)

The thoughts with Zickler also came to my mind. :)
Let´s see how he develope.

But that´s not Werders problem.
Important is now, what the club does.

Current strikers are:
Rosenberg, Almeida, Hunt, Klasnic, Schindler and Harnik.

Last two should breath some BL air this season,
behind Klasnic is a big question mark.

So, what should Werder do?

I don't understand why Bayern didn't give Werder like 5 million euros + Makaay for Klose???

I don't think it was just the money. I think Schlaudraff was stupid enough to actually think he would play there.

I am with you there. I don't care about Schlaudraff. I just wanted you guys' thoughts on him and his stupid move to choose Bayern over Bremen. I think even the Bayern fans would have to admit that was a stupid move for him. I think Hamit Altintop will play more than Schlaudraff.

I thought you guys would take some of that money, go to Amsterdam and try to get Huntelaar or Babel. :o

Didn't Makaay say he didn't want to join another Bundesliga side?
You can't move players against their wishes (except they are called Fahrenhorst ;) ).

I also doubt that Werder would have wanted Makaay.

@footyfan: I could be wrong but I think guys like Babel or Huntelaar are above 20 M in which case Werder wouldn't do it.

Lavezzi and/or Zarate are more likely imo.

I believe Schlaudraff will get more playing time at Bayern than many think.
He is very very young still. He might as well be Bayerns future.

Besides Hitzfield loves to rotate several players. I don't think Schlaudraff will play only on the forward. Plus if Klose,Toni or Podolski suffer injury or have a lack of form ,Schlaudraff will play.

If Klose wasn't benched in Werder when he had a scoring crisis it was because Aloofs knew he couldn't replace Klose with another striker with those qualities. At Bayern, if he doesn't performed he will be benched by Hitzfeld.

Best luck to Werder. I really love your team and hope to see them being competitive. I hope you can buy a great forward (Alves perhaps) that will help.

i would absolutely LOVE huntelaar to play in werder! but i doubt we'd get him.

i don't think werder will suffer from this.

klose is a world-class striker but he's no gerd muller and he can be replaced

bremen always spend wisely to improve their squad and i have no doubt alloffs will do the same with the 12 million euros

you're still my favourites for the title.

I hope borowski takes more of a leadership role in the team now.

One thing i wonder is...how much animosity can there be between the two teams management?...I mean rummenigge and alloffs were teammates for west-germany...
