Why is Hejduk even playing so much? He's old, and he's not even good (especially with as much pushing forward as he does, you think they would want a RB who could cross).

Yup, a straight red for Junior. Who else is out for the final?
2-1 USA.
U-S-A, U-S-A!!!!
That was Cheatin Bob's boy's best game. Actually looked like he might one day belong out there.

He actually played well in that match -- not just getting the goal, but playing both ways as the ArenaBall fullback.

Yeah, I only saw the first fifteen minutes - that was really more a general statement. Simek and Spector will actually be around for the next WC, so why not play them? Hejduk shouldn't really be getting much playing time with the Nats at all anymore.

I think Hejduk's been our best defender this tournament.
And, yea, I'm a Crew fan and label me a homer if you wish. But, really, my statement says more about my lack of faith in the other regulars in defense than whether I believe Hejduk is quality player.

It was only one game, but I don't think either of them played all that well in the game against T&T. As much as I cringe when watching Hejduk play, he's been the better player and has deserved the spot over them. Granted next week should be a different roster, so the other two can hopefully start gaining some time in preperation for the qualifiers.

With Mexico winning late last night we now have the highly anticipated US vs Mexico match in Solider Field. Fan attendance on both sides has been great and I'm going to predict a 60%-40% ratio in favor of the US. Both sides aren't playing their best, but we are all aware that when these 2 teams meet bad blood is on the field. Let us see who really is the best team and who will represent the continent at the Confederations Cup in South Africa.

USA vs MEX is the game we all knew would decide the Gold Cup...I hope we (USA) annihilate them...beating Mexico fells as good as beating ManUre.

Medina and Guardado will dance circles around Bornstein and whoever the RB is.

Ho, hum, another US win over Mexico. :D
Seriously, outside of Estadio Azteca, I'd expect nothing less.

Mexico was the better team but the U.S. got the result. Both teams are pretty good but I like Mexico’s style of play better. The Mexicans really know how to create and move on and off the ball (I also liked the angles in their passing). IMHO, the penalty call against them was fictitious (if that was a penalty then the U.S. should have been whistled for about three). The Feilhaber goal was out-f@cking-standing. IMO, the man of the match was Guardado. He is magnificent.
Overall, I think this is not good enough from the U.S. We have been winning the Gold Cup for sometime now and I think it is about time to step up to something bigger. We should have taken a B/C squad to this competition and our A to Copa America.
For the U.S. my MOM was Bocanegra.

When goals like that are scored, I can't even muster the strength to cheer; my jaw just drops and I pseudo-hyperventilate.

That was the best game I've ever seen out of the USMNT - both from a quality and entertainment perspective. And the result was nice too.
Glad to be heading to South Africa for the Confed's Cup, b/c while it's not nearly as prestigious as the Copa America, it's still a damn good tournament.
Viva Estados Unidos!!!

Yeah I was in shock at first. Then I backed up with my DVR and just admired it. Then backed it up for the third time I was pumping my fists.
