I believe Salcido is now fit and Marquez will by in the States for the semifinals and finals (assuming Mexico make it that far).

I wouldn't count on it, I don't like this Hugo Sanchez, I'd much rather we still had LaVolpe. :(

I don't much like Cheatin' Bob either but we are stuck with him.

I am not quite settled with Bob either...but I think he either needed to get the job or get let go. I really don't think Gulati runs our soccer federation very well. However, if Bradley gets the results in the Gold Cup and some type of a result in the Copa America, that will keep me satisfied. But I want him to show me that he is the coach to take us to the next level, and its hard to be optimistic of his chances of taking us to the next level (at least WC Semifinals in 2010).
Will be missing Gold Cup game against T&T because of coaching duties. Have it on the DVR though, so all is good.

I don't think it's necessary - or helpful - to set absolute goals in a tournament like the WC. I mean, you have to be a very, very, very good team (Brazil, Germany, and Italy are probably the only countries that can say this, and maybe a few others) where you would be angry if you don't make the semis. Given the random and often unfair nature of the World Cup, we should probably go in with goals that are more realistic and correlate to our progress. Maybe things like winning the group at the WC, winning an away friendly against a top country, etc.

Those are good goals to have I am just saying the logical next step for us would be to eventually a)win the group as you said and b)make it one step farther than we have ever made it in a WC. Those two are long term goals, I probably shouldn't say we should make it to the semifinals of the South African WC, bc I don't think that will happen.

Well, in Germany we could have played much better than we did and still not gotten as far as Japorea. As Quentc says much of a Cup is about who you draw, the quirky own goal or Pk, and what happens in other matchs. I simply would like us to play better football every four years than we did before. That's why I was pissed about Germany. If we can fight Italy to a 1-1 draw we should be able to play much better than we did against the CR and Ghana. For Cheatin' Bob my first criticism is starting his own son in two straight matchs. The boy isn't bad but how many other 20 year olds with a single successful MLS season (where he only started when his dad was the coach) and an adequate season for a mid-table dutch team get those kind of starts. Answer: none. My second is that he seems slow to react to tactical situations on the pitch. He sets out good plans and is able to adjust his plans to the opponent but seems slow to react when the actual game conditions dictate.

Which was the main criticism of Arena.

Bingo -- Cheatin' Bob is his secret love child:DShould have paid that blonde German feller to coach your team.
This US "we've-got-to-have-a-home-grown-manager," pride with no credentials or experience will definately set you back another 4 years.
It seems after every World Cup they promote some unknown (In the international world) to run the team. Who was it? Hugging Bob Strong!!? Well he lasted until the worst WC showing in ...well ever! Then the fat bullfrog...Arena, he went a bit farther. The worst thing they ever did was play like a real team and beat Portugal, after that expectations among Sam's army were set waaaay! too high and came crashing down with a loud THUMP.
The players are there, the commitment is there, the coaching sadly is not.
Offer McClarren some money, get him out of Engerland...:D

Good performance today, although the Trinidad defense didn't really put up much of a fight. Would've been 3-0 if the AR knew how to call offsides.
And Bradley needs to stop this shit with his son. He adds absolutely nothing to the squad. Hopefully this won't continue into Copa America.

No need for Second Choice Steve who is even more clueless. Not a bad result today but again the answer he pulls out is to play his own kid. Heck the real test is what he's able to do in Copa America. We will be bringing a second choice side and playing BIG teams like Argentina.

2-1 -- Pretty decent result, not a bad performance. I hope we get Uncle Sam in the finale and thrash them 5-4.

Cuba was really shite. El Tri is taking this seriously though. All first choice players except Marquez. Yeah I liked like to play you again.

Hey Morph is Honduras gonna win the World Cup? They just beat one of the favorites for South Africa, right?

I knew Uncle Sam would insult those who are “beneath” him. For starters our back four is no where near as good as the one under LaVolpe. Maza is pathetic, absolutely crap. Then Mexico has no fire power up front Omar is almost as bad as McBride. Hugo is new and settling in, so things take time, in three years time, we’ll be the dark horses to watch along side Ghana, whilst Donovan and the rest of Uncle Sam march back into their nearest Burger King and that's the way the cookie crumbles. ;)

Always great to see Mexico lose when they play in the states. Very entertaining match between Panama and Cuba. It makes the match between Mexico and Panama even more interesting. Hope Panama and Cuba advance to play the U.S., to test and see how good the U.S. really are under Bradley.

It's always great to see Cobi Jones getting pwned like a BIATCH! :)
It's a shame Marquez didn't end his career or what was left of it, which wasn't much like most USA Soccer Players man!
