If you had to make a top-15 or top-20 list of the best CONCACAF strikers, how would it look? Here's my take on the top-30:
1) David Suazo - Honduras
2) Omar Bravo - Mexico
3) Jared Borgetti - Mexico
4) Paulo Wanchope - Costa Rica
5) Brian McBride - USA
6) Francisco Fonseca - Mexico
7) Carlos Ruiz - Guatemala
8) Adolfo Bautista - Mexico
9) Marlon King - Jamaica
10) Eddie Johnson - USA
11) Brian Ching - USA
12) Taylor Twellman - USA
13) Damani Ralph - Jamaica
14) Stern John - Trinidad & Tobago
15) Josh Wolff - USA
16) Ronald Gomez - Costa Rica
17) Jeff Cunningham - USA
18) Kenny Cooper - USA
19) Ricardo Fuller - Jamaica
20) Carlos Pavon - Honduras
21) Chris Rolfe - USA
22) Alvaro Saborio - Costa Rica
23) Rolando Fonseca - Costa Rica
24) Ante Razov - USA
25) Juan Carlos Cacho - Mexico
26) Roberto Brown - Panama
27) Maykel Galindo - Cuba
28) Winston Parks - Costa Rica
29) Daniel Osorno - Mexico
30) Dwight Pezzarossi - Guatemala
Assumptions:
-that Dwight Yorke is more of a CAM these days than a striker.
-that Alberto Medina of Mexico was more of a winger.
-My knowledge of the MFL is limited, so I'm probably missing out on some mid-talent-level Mexican players who haven't really done much on the national team.

After the Gold Cup Eddie Johnson will be much higher, Bravo is no #2.

Agree yet there is a def argument on places 2-5, Over consistency, Omar Bravo would be def higher up. And some other attackers could be there too. This is a very tough list to make.

11) Omar Bravo - Mexico
For now, I don't rate Eddie Johnson and Omar Bravo in top ten...even though Bravo was top scorer. Yet in a few years I believe Bravo and Johnson will be a top 5 forward in the region. Costly and King are often overlooked forwards, very creative and explosive.

well Carlos Ruiz isnt really a factor this season in Dallas so we should take him out too then ;)
If we go by the last 5-10 years...of course Wanchope is one of the best in Concacaf...but if its by this season...then no he doesnt...he is always havin problems with his knee (even tho he did a great job in Argentina where the Rosario Central fans loved him). So if we go by this year, i would replace him wit either Alvaro Saborio, Bryan Ruiz, Alonso Solis, or Rolando Fonseca.

I know many people don't like the Soca Warriors but let's keep it real. Stern John has 65 goals to his name for the Warriors and Dwight although not a high goal scorer for TNT had 36 goals for Manchester United over the 99 to 2000 season. So when you go rating players in the region do not forget we possess the right stuff and put Stern John in the top five!

Stern scored alot of those goals against Amateur Island side with no full time league, so one could say those #'s are a bit inflated... how many of the goals are against top !10 concacaf teams?
Yorke though on the other hand that another story , but this is a Current list not yester- years

Good list, although Dely Valdez(Panama) should be in there somewhere, along with one or two Hatian players.

Someone mentioned Costly as #11 although the original poster didn't have him in the top 30. He reminds me a lot of Pavon (hair and size). The commentator said something along the line that he was the top scorer in the Polish league. I've got to say with 3 goals in the first two games against Panama (last cup's runner up and current leader of Group C) and Mexico (perennial fave and regional powerhouse) that Costly is in the top 10.

I thought the Daly Valdez twins were retired? I know they're fairly old.
And having watched the first two matches for each team in the Gold Cup, it has become clear to me that I underrated Blas Perez & that Garces guy for Panama, as well as Carlos Costly for Honduras.
It's really hard to follow Central American football from here in the States, because there's so little TV coverage, and I don't know of any good websites in English that cover Central America (HELP?). So naturally, I don't know a lot about some of these "diamonds in the rough" until I get to see them on live TV.
