I think Mexico is undefeated en el Azteca in WCQ, or they lost once....im not sure.
But thats just en el Azteca

You should buy the book, "TRIunfos y TRIstezas del equipo TRIcolor. Historia de la Seleccion Mexicana de Futbol", written by Roberto Garcia Pimental, Fco. Forastieri, & Fco. Javier Sanchez.

It list every match (official and exhibition) the Mexican NT has played up until the date of the book's publication (1995). The authors went through great lengths to include rosters, dates, stadium attendence, referee, etc.

I highly recommend the book.

you may also want to check out the following website

http://www.planetworldcup.com/NATIONS/mex_qualify.html

Just by glancing at the info on this website and looking at the book that I mentioned, it appears the info is correct.

best in what regards? stats? performance?

Bora got off to a rough start losing to Jamaica and Honduras in the preliminary round of the WC qualifiers. Despite qualifying without suffering a defeat in the final round, Mexico suffered the last 4 matches. They drew against the US, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Canada.

not losing is always good... the stats were the best which also implies better performance from all the other campaigns

did you even watch those games?

Bora's team were playing like utter crap. He had a Gold Cup, a Copa Kirin, a Copa USA, a Copa America, and numerous friendlies... and his last 4-5 games were the final stages of the WCQs. He drew his last 4 games. He drew at Azteca against Costa Rica and the US. Did you know that the fans were cheering for the away teams in Azteca? That is how bad we were playing as a group.

I could understand his team not functioning at first. Coaching is hard as it is, and coaching a NT is harder since you do not work with a team on a daily basis. But we are talking about 2.5 years of work that did not show much progress.

just like in mexico vs paraguay? en el aztecazo? so you are saying that hugo sanchez is having the same performance as you describe "crap" because the fans are cheering for the other team? hahahaha just look at the numbers... it was clear at the time that bora had good strategies and got the best record in WCQ

plus you know also the reason why that was going on... with people screaming "fuera bora! fuera bora" dont you think peeps will start cheering for the other team? its all about perception.. that campaign against bora by lapuente is what was mainly responsible for those bad sentiments they had for bora even thou he gave them the best record in WQ.......... now we get people cheering on the opposing team in our templo called el azteca without that type of bad press that bora was getting, what does that tell you?

What does Hugo Sanchez have to do with this?

Do you really want to compare Hugo, who is in the process of coaching his 1st official tournament to that of another coach who had 2.5 years under his belt without showing any sort of progress considering several exhibition matches as well as the Gold Cup, Copa USA, Copa Kirin, Copa America, and World Cup qualifiers?

campaign against Bora by Lapuente?

Do you mean like these type of statements

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/rdl674/lavolpelies.jpg

There was never a witchhunt against Bora and especially never one set by Lapuente? The fact is that many people within the footballing circles, including coaches like Lapuente, Lavolpe, Tena, Quirarte, etc just grew tired of the NT. Bora had the position for a while, played numerous official tournaments and was not showing signs of improvement.

Claiming that Lapuente was the one starting the witchhunt is bogus. Who is Lapuente to dictate who gets the NT coaching gig? No one.

Did you even watch Mexico play or are you just going off stats because I get the feeling you did not watch these games.

I watched the games when I was a kid... I even remember how andres cantor would comment on how en el azteca habia gente que se ponia a gritar "fuera bora fuera bora" and would complain why would people do that when he qualfied them to the WC faster than any other coach.. plus yes I know that his style really wasnt super exicitng but he got the results.. the only reason why I brought up hugo sanchez is cuz bora had better performance than hugo sanchez but you still idolize hugo still.. even thou bora got the results and had better performance as a coach
