KC Fans,

Hey, don't mean to bother everyone, but I will be in KC tomorrow afternoon with several hours before my flight leaves and was interested in seeing the England v Estonia game if there was a pub near the airport showing it (I have a rental car).

Any ideas?

Thank you very much, and btw, our supporters here in Dallas are still talking about the great time they had at the tailgate a few weeks ago.

Thank you very much!

O'dowd's Irish Pub at Zona Rosa maybe? Google Maps says 4.5 miles from there to the airport.

Anybody that lives up that way have a better suggestion?

That's pretty much the best option... Getting there from the airport couldn't be much simpler. :)

I-29 S to Barry Road exit. Turn right at the exit and then right at the light (Outback steakhouse on the opposite corner). Turn left at the 2nd light, O'Dowd's is right there on the corner. :)

There is a Paddy O'Quigleys off of the 64th street exit on 71/29 HWY. They aren't necessarily known as a soccer bar (neither is O'Dowds), but they have a lot of TV's and in the middle of the day I'm sure someone would turn it on. A simple call to both places would let you know.

Then your best bet would be O'Dowd's, really... 35 S to 152, 152 west to 29 and 29 to Barry Road, the rest as above... Less likelihood of getting lost... :)

I live north of the river and spend a lot of time at the Barnes&Noble at Zona Rosa...

i watched several world cup matches at O'Dowds in Zona Rosa (my office is in North Kansas City, and the Immigration office is just north of Zona Rosa) as well as other times i have been in there they have rugby, curling, etc. on... so i wouldn't be shy about asking for soccer on at least one of the tvs.

Thank you everyone!
Just an update:
I did go to O'Dowd's today, and it's a nice place - very much like a place here in Dallas Trinity Hall, or Fado in Austin/Chicago.
Anyways, I got there late, at about the start of the second half of the England-Estonia game I figure.
After a few minutes they found the game on their cable - but Setanta was charging $24.95.
I figured it would be pretty rude to ask them to pay $25 for only me to watch the second half of the game in an empty bar, and I didn't feel like ordering a bunch of food to justify the whole thing for them.
So i had 2 beers and talked with a couple people and heard how fun the "Boulevard Beer" tour is.
Missed the game, but fun anyways.
