Hi, i am Eddie :P
What video games do you guys play?
I like Massive Multiplayer games more so currently i am playing World of Warcraft (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml).
It has more then 8.5M players worldwide and you get addicted to it pretty much. I used to play ALOT of Counter Strike before but thats over now :P.
From what i've read most of you play Football Managers etc. I havent heard of any of you that plays a MMORPG.
Feel free to talk of any video game and make recommendations of games you liked or find interesting.

I was watching that Documentary sort of program on people playing MMORPG games like 'Second Life' and 'World of Warcraft'. I must admit I haven't tried playing those games.
The thing with Warcraft is that you have to pay a monthly subscription, right? That takes out all the flavour for me, cause I'm a bit of a miser:o. ...lol...
Btw, Second Life is huge.....apparantly they have people trading in the game, which in real currency(pounds) is worth over a Billion. People have started business over these :p

Used to be a CS addict, I was kiiiiiiiiiiinda pro, sponsored by an internet cafe which used to buy us dinner, let us sleep in a backroom (with bunks!) and have free internet in the cafe; used to have some leet times with my clan :D at our peak we were top10 (go everise! :D)
Play abit of singleplayer BF2 when I'm bored, alot of FPS (FEAR, Doom3, Quake4), Grand Theft Auto.
Oh and LOTS OF Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven! The greatest stuff :D
Played afew Football Managers and the Total Club Manager's too, great stuff.
ATM my flatmate (computer genius) has deleted all my .dll's so I can't play any games because of exams, sad times.

Same happens in World of Warcraft. People level their characters to 70 (thats the max level) and then sell them for around 200-500 euros depending on what gear they have and what class they are. There are also "Chinese Farmers" who farm gold all day and them sell them for real life money. Someone buys 10 PC's or more, gets some accounts and pays people to farm Gold in the game and then he sells it for $$$. Its actually sad, they dont get paid much and "work" alot. Its also against WoW policies but there is no way to stop them unless banning them.

Its a pretty good game though if played with friends.

I don't do MMORPG, based on two ideas: 1) I'm too old to play with 13-year old whizzes and 2) MMORPGs are extremely lacking compared to actual RPGs with storylines and character development written by pros (I'm a fan of oldish stuff like both Baldur's Gates, Planescape: Torment and even SNES stuff like Chrono Trigger).
Other than RPGs, I do quite a bit of Football Manager (I'm taking time off because I can't get Malaga to work like I know it should after 5 seasons and players like Bojan or Pazzini in my roster), some Civilization (although I'm not too good) and a bit of PS2 (Pro Evo and my latest favourite: LEGO Star Wars, I kid you not).

Well point A is so true, thats why i said its fun if played with friends.
About point B: The game i mentioned, World of Warcraft, has 4 different kind of realms (servers) on which you can start your Character.
PVE - Players vs Endgame = killing different bosses, for which to achieve you need a group of 25-40 players. In these realms you cannot be attacked by a member of the opposing faction unless you enable PvP.
PVP - Players vs Player = Same like PVE but you can get killed without warning or anything. Its like real war.
Normal - kinda like both of the upper.
RP - Role playing = Now if you go there you have to make a character, give him a background history and you always have to act upon that story. When you get ingame you forget everything about real life and start acting like a green Orc or a beautiful Night Elf.
I play PvP :P

What!? That is infuriating...
If my girlfriend did that to all my games, I would tear up all her Paris Hilton and fashion magazine BS.

^But you have to accept that they can be fcuking addictive .. Can still remember how i used to play in college ..
This is a funny, yet ture story:
I had an exam the next morning .. Me and my group of friends decide to go gaming .. Soem of us 'think' its not wise to do so but some of us are determined to go game for a coupel of hours ..
So we decide to toss a coin .. Heads - we head back and hit the books; Tails: we go gaming ..
We toss: Heads .. We look at each other and decide its not fair and that we'd consider the best of 3 .. Tails & Heads .. We go for a best of 5 .. Bl**dy Heads and Heads .. We put the coin back and go gaming ..

I'm more of a console gamer, my PC is crap and it cost too much to upgrade.
Anyway I just got a PS3 last month but so far it's been a mixed bag, not a lot of quality games to choose from.
Anyway some of my favourite series are Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, Dynasty Warriors and FIFA/Pro Evo.
I'm currently playing Oblivion as well, also trying to get around finally finishing FFXII and Resistance:FoM.

So none of you have modded PSP's?
Whether you believe it.... I got it all. PS3, PS2, PSP (hacked 3.40O E A).
If I told you the games on PS2, you wouldn't believe me so I won't. :p On PS3, I gave away my Madden and Resistance (waiting for MGS4). On PSP, well.... I got 4 games and alot of emulator/iso/mods (which I can't speak of).
The game I play the most I guess would be Fifa 07... yeah.. I hate it too It's just something quick I can jump in and out with.

Yea, I have a modded PS2...Bought it from Dubai for a good price to be honest. And at the moment I have over 40+ games for my PS2:eek: I usually buy my games from my native country(Bangladesh), where the games cost about 1 pound :D compared to the original games in UK which cost about 25+pounds.
I actually like Fifa07 as well as Pro EVO....I play each game for certain periods as they both offer unique gameplay. In Fifa07 I love the career mode which is the only thing that keeps me hooked to the game. And in Pro Evo the gameplay is so much real-life-based...
I also played Football Manager for a while last year, but then gave up cause it is soo addicting and time consuming as well.......:(

I would go in detail, but we can't since I think it's "illegal" on here. Anyways, I got a teammate who put me on "UMD's on memory sticks" to say the least. Oh and emulators are.. um... great.

The sad thing about me is I play Fifa07, and it sucks.. big time. Career mode is way too easy as well, even Legendary is WAY too easy. I literally beat the computer 9,8,7 to 3 or less nearly everytime.
So why do I still play it? :(

.....Starcraft 2 coming
I remeber Starcraft when it came out back in 97'. I was addicted as well...
I literally beat the game with every side.
I heard about Starcraft 2 coming out, don't know if I'll still be interested but I should be. Just can't let anybody I know, know I play that... :p

The original Rainbow Six was one of my favorite games ever (the online mode, not single player). It was the most addictive game I have played. Now I only play Winning Eleven and NCAA Football.
