Did I mention that we got rid not only of Degen but also of Kahè (Genclerbirligi/Turkey) and Sonck (Brügge/Belgium)? Can't believe that we even earned € 1 million for Sonck...
Kudos to Christian Ziege! Ze Antonio is the last player to get rid of now...

yup, good luck against osnabruck. I guess you don't get to watch those games either?
marko marin looks like a sure contributor to the german team at world cup 2010.
today, espn showed 1 hour highlights of the 77 EC final in their "classic football" segment.

Finally a "WIN" even though it was a narrow one !
Right approach at such urgent times, good work.
Now the million dollar questions is...do we have the consistency to pocket a few more wins and look optimistic ??

What a relief to see the first win of the season, which is also the 1st victory since March, 17th! What a comeback from Oliver Neuville!!! ;)
The 1st half was superb, and we should have had even a higher lead. Unfortunately we didn't manage to keep this level after the interval ... so after the 2:1, we had to fight toughly for the 3 points (since Rob Friend, who played quite well, missed 2-3 very good counter attack opportunities).
Here 2 match reports with the stats:

Neuville star of the show
Borussia fans had been longing for the day that Oliver Neuville regained full fitness. Against Osnabrück he returned to the starting eleven - and scored both goals in a 2-1 victory.

Collective sigh of relief
The sense of relief in the Borussia dressing room after the opening win of the season yesterday afternoon was palpable. And the atmosphere at the BORUSSIA PARK remained relaxed today.

So far seems "Sasha Rosler" has been the best purchase of the off-season,the guy seems like a major impact player all over the field and plays as if "gladbach" means more than just a team and pay cheque..lots of pride and intensity!

Rösler was the worst player on the pitch in Mainz. At least he's a fighter...
He was a very succesful striker at my local club Fürth some years ago (I bet he'll be booed massively for some reason when Borussia is playing at Playmobil stadium) ... however, it seems that he'll play in the central midfield in Mönchengladbach (near Marko Marin).

Good to see Rob Friend get his first goal in Germany. The coach sounded pleased with his performance.

Rob Friend showed a decent performance (somehow he reminds me of Zlatan Ibrahimovic:-) again and finally got rewarded with his first goal in the Borussia dress! The 20 year old talent Johannes van den Bergh (who had his debut) and Marcel Ndjeng were superb as well in my eyes.
What a relief to see the first away win of the season, which is very important and also the first one since more than 6 months! The 1st half was probably the best away performance since many years ... and if Oliver Neuville didn't miss the penalty, the game would have been already decided after 45 minutes! Unfortunately he did ... and gave Aue a new chance. After the surprising 1:2, we had another 2 good opportunities to score the 3:1 ... but after the shocking 2:2 (which was offside, though), I really feared that we would fall apart once again! Thankfully, the team reacted with character, coolness & braveness this time, what should give us confidence for the next games. When Touma and Colautti finally get fit, we'll have a very good squad, I think...

Important away win in Aue
Sascha Rösler and Rob Friend put Borussia ahead and Aue then restored parity before Roel Brouwers made it 3-2 to win the game. But far more happened than that.

Yesterday the Borussia squad took off from Dresden Airport heading for Düsseldorf and from there to the BORUSSIA PARK. Also on board were the three points from the game at FC Erzgebirge Aue.

Good win on Monday for Gladbach - after Aue's quick comeback at the start of the second half i didn't see Gladbach waking up and getting the three points anyway, but they proved me wrong. Good win.

Let's wait up if Jos Luhukay will prove you wrong as well in the end...;)
Btw: I'm still melancholic about the old "Bökelberg" today. :o:)
