:mad:Seems like non of our nerw up-front players will be playing at this match as well,a very critical away match i might add...i hope we survive this drought of goals/points because b4 you know...its the same old playing for catch-up story over again!

Rob Friend, Cdn international striker signed this summer from SC Heerenven (Dutch Eredivisie), should start.

Well, Rob Friend started ... but didn't have one single good scene until he was replaced by Colautti. I bet there will be some "fire" in MG this week after this terrible performance in Mainz & the bad season start! This away weakness is simply embarrasing!!!
Marin was the only player to be singled out once again.

Herbe 1:4-Niederlage in Mainz
Schon früh lag Borussia am Mainzer Bruchweg 0:2 in Rückstand. Am Ende unterlag die Luhukay-Elf gar mit 1:4. Der Ehrentreffer gelang Patrick Paauwe in der 73. Minute.

I will never turn my back to "GLADBACH" so its not about W and L but its getting really hard to relate to this club...simple things seem like huge obsticles for this club, something just is always missing..yes in football sometimes a 3rd or 4th division side comes up with massive results..but teams such as gladbach with that kind of history/reputation also must perform to some minimum level...this team has been ugly and suffering for so long its almost like a guessing game whenever they walk on the field(regardless whos the coach,captain..is it an away game or a home game etc etc list goes on)..you are always on your toes always,as i said this isnt a rant nor its bashing..am just really fed up and its getting difficult to enjoy this team as a simple fan!
I cannot explain how i felt..while i was looking at the live ticker, its always the opponent that adds the digits to the score board and your just hoping for a single goal, its really getting difficult!

Manager and team are under big pressure and are facing a lot of criticism this week. I really hope that the defeat from Friday will be something like a wake-up call!
There are rumours that the next home game against Osnabrück could be the "Schicksalsspiel" for Jos Luhukay...

I think Luhukay should've been fired right after he completely failed to help Gladbach fight relegation... just my opinion, but don't forget that i did say back in April/May that Gladbach would only be a real 2. Liga force once they get rid of him...

I dont mind the guy,but i had the same opinion few months back and that he is of no such caliber to survive this task !
But history is repeating itself again..they keep a guy and build on him and bring new players according to that structure...then they fire him,basically..all the work goes down the tubes...so one step forward....10 steps back!
Its too early in the season yes...but i really dont feel this gladbach outfit has the right consistency....seems like with every win or draw comes a few loses and this is the 2.liga we are talking. Some teams already have collected 5-9 points...and these are the points you need in order to stay secure and safe at the end of the season when all hell breaks lose:(

Not yet. To be honest, I just expected these starting problems ... since Oliver Neuville still isn't fit and Touma & Colautti missed the whole preparation.
I'm sure that our time will come. The question is, if Jos will get this time to develope a new team. Most of the fans are impatient, but Königs seems to have learned from former mistakes ... so I hope that Luhukay won't be fired at this early stage of the season. I still trust him and I know that Christian Ziege is doing as well. However, it's obvious that Jos finally needs victories hence...
PS: Some Borussia fans believe we are jinxed since the Bökelberg got demolished. ;) The so-called "Rache des Bökelbergs" :-)

Cant comment about being jinxed,however...i have my own kindda superstition etc and i really think Bokelberg shoud have stayed, maybe renovated and up-graded something about that place was mysterious, captivating and old-school..very traditional..just like how some stadiums are always a tough place for any team to come out victorious!
Another question i have is,where is otto rehagel..is he still in greece?i believe he is one of those coaches that can turn any team around:rolleyes:
Also why are we always investing in players that cant play immediately and contribute up-front,we are in tremendous need of massive power for scoring goals..yet we are still waiting for neuville..and add two players that are not even 70% battel-ready to a squad thats already blind in front of the opponents goal line,i was so excited with the addition of touma and the argentine..now all am hearing is they managed to play 10-15-or 20 min at the most, there must be lots of pieces to this puzzle which i am not aware of..but one thing i know is we need savage and strong healthy players up-front and thats not the case with the new added players..this is really stupid not even funny considering the fact that borussias first priority has always been lack of scoring goals!
Somtimes am happy am stuck in a country that i cant watch the games...because i might have kicked the shit out of my expensive panasonic plasma screen !
Oh one last thing,no disrespect to the younger guys on this forum..but i have watched how borussia thru the years(actually right when jupp heyckes in the 80s left)..has always given in to money and selling his starlet players..always coming up with excuses that they cant keep them due to financial reasons...i personally think..at some point u have to bite the bullet and somehow find the money to keep players such as jansen, those are the turning points in a teams history..and how some teams seperate from the others and move up in the ranks...i have watched so many great players leave borussia..and everytime its the same F-ing excuse..borussia has no money,ok then lets forget about germany,europe..because obviosuly this always happens with gladbach..we develope great players, players that are great enough to change the course of a game alone...then we sell them to teams that already come in 1st,2nd or 3rd.Please look back for yourself and count the numbers,as long as we let quality players go we shall suffer! i used "jansen" as an example, among the players i can list some may have wanted to leave borussia regardless, but there is more than a handful that would have stayed if the team somehow would have cooperated.I guess what am saying is...if borussia does not have the money and cant find the way to bring in the money maybe us as fans should just be happy to be a gladbach fans..and forget if they are playing in 2.liga,or later perhaps in lower ranks in the german league.Sad but true..money and sponsorship is more than "KEY" nowdays and if that situation does not change we shall only be shadow of a team that once used to bring fear to any team in europe and even beyond europe!

I don't think it's the lack of money that we are facing some tough moments now! We've never been in a financially better situation before (don't forget that we spent € 10 million before the season we relegated). We lost Jansen not cause we needed the cash ... but since we had relegated and he got a good offer from Bayern.
We are among the 5 top BL clubs regarding the financial aspect without debts, so our problem isn't the money.
The problem with the the late signings of Touma & Colautti is the fact that we badly wanted them, but had to wait until now for some reasons (the same with Insua last season).

When borussia first sunk into 2.liga it was due to some huge financial scam/investements..i believe in real estate and what not(am not sure due to the fact that the article was in german)..which resulted all its star players left...eventually we sank in the 2.liga once in the 2.liga everybody left!
Borussia is not an atrractive club anymore and it hasent been for the past 15 years knowbody will know when it would see a eurocup tournament...thats why no-player stays with us,so this is about the early 80s when money was an issue and selling every single top quality player we had to FC Hollwood,bremen..etc. etc...,if we are good in the bank..why cant we bring in solid players players we know they do not need to get experimented??why are we signing 2nd rate/players that hummmm...maybe ok...and hummm..maybe not?
Can we compete we likes of bayern??bremen?? if so...would the new signings even come to us instead of bayern...its simple no!
Anywayz..its water under the bridge..quite honeslty if we even win the home game this week..next week...same kindda pressure and being doubtful will surround everybody cause we just cant perform to a certain standard and this has been a disease this club cant cure and hasent in the past 12 years!
Sorry guys am just really up-set and it takes so much out of me...when i see the results, ppl like us deserve better!

It's more than obvious that the board (Königs & Schippers who decided for the wrong managers and dismissed too many of them within a short period of time), the team management (Howie in his last 2 years in MG and Peter Pander did a bad job by spending too much money on average, wrong or too old players and so-called former "stars") and the scouting system failed miserably since the time we have moved to Borussia-Park! It seems that we wanted too much within the last 3 years ... so we made fatal mistakes in building up the team (too many managers & new players and too little patience)!
It's definitely not a matter of money in contrast to the first relegation (we've never had more in the past - thanks to the new stadium and a boom in sponsorship and membership) ... but a matter of bad management!
Let's hope we have learned our lesson now and won't repeat the same mistakes!
Sorry guys am just really up-set and it takes so much out of me...when i see the results, ppl like us deserve better!
Take a look at our rivals from 1. FC Köln. They have/had the same problems ... maybe even worse. So I see a lot of parallels between both clubs. Maybe there's really a hex over the Rhein/Niederrhein area. :-)
But trust me: it will get better soon and we'll be able to be proud of being Borussia fan again!
