Her Kgilbert78

Great photos, so you and your wife are both gladbachers...i guess there is football debate over dinner:rolleyes:
Hope to see photos of you from a EURO MATCH very soon with the FOHLS...Its time we get back on the map and perhaps this time kick liverpools ass fair and square!
:)

Well to be honest, my wife didn't quite understand what it was like to be a FohlenFan (she does like soccer, however). That's why, when we were planning our Germany trip in 2005, I made sure to schedule it around the Gladbach-Mainz game. Our tickets to that game were the second thing I got after arranging our flights (and flights came first only because we were using frequent flier miles). I had two BL games scheduled on that trip--the second being Schalke at Berlin, but she did not want to go to the latter. On her behalf I must add that when tickets went on sale for the last World Cup qualifier between the US and Mexico here in Columbus, here comment was: "You ARE taking me to the game, right!?"

I have been a fan since 1973 but have only been to four matches live: 1978 vs Braunschweig, 1978 in Duesseldorf vs Liverpool, vs a Brazilian team in Chicago in the late 1990's, and the Mainz game 3 years ago. It can be frustrating. I used to subscribe to Kicker's old Fussballmagazin and even had a letter published in 1990! It was about the USA World Cup team, as it had been stated in FM that we were a joke. I noted that we had the winner of the Silver Ball in the last U-20 WC and while we did not expect to win, we would not be a joke. Oh, the guy who won the Silver Ball at that U-20 WC you may have heard of--his name is Kasey Keller! Then i subscribed to Kicker itself for a number of years, but with the rise of the Internet, I finally was able to get the info I needed from our web site and Kicker's website. Not sure when I will be able to afford to get back to see a match--with the Euro at 1.50 dollars, it may be a while...:(

I'm not an economist, but I'm saying the €uro will be around 1:1 by summer of '09 at the latest and probably the end of this year.

Signed,

Ben B.

Almost 3 1/2 blocks with BMG fans (there were also plenties of them on the main stand) in a city which is located more than 600 km's away from Mönchengladbach ... and this on a Friday in the 2nd league! Simply amazing, isn't it?

Here's also a great clip I've just found on youtube.

Sharbel Touma will get some working time against his former team mates tomorrow. ;)

EDIT: I was wrong. Sharbel was in Augsburg, so he won't have to play against Twente.

Ok, you are right. ;) Gaucho is doing a good job, indeed!

watched the video clip uwe..its one scary stadium..gives me the creeps for some reason!!!

Scary stadium? ;) Why?

Well, it's an old traditional stadium (28,000 capacity) whose Gegengerade looks quite similar to the former Olympiastadion in Munich. The huge number of standings reminded me of the old Bökelberg too...

Unfortunately it will be demolished next season for a modern arena. Augsburg is Bavaria's 3rd largest city (300,000), so the club (top players like Helmut Haller, Bernd Schuster, Armin Veh and our former skipper Christian Hochstätter played here in the past) has got many financially potent sponsors.

Btw: Here's another nice clip showing our team celebrating with the fans after the game.

Ah, now I know what you're talking about! That "somebody" was myself, Naz. ;)

You mean THIS (http://forum.borussia.de/viewtopic.php?t=18563&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=300) thread? Hey, I didn't know you are reading the official forum, too. :-)

The reply to your statement was the following:

"He's totally right! Some players with mercenary background should put that in their pipes and smoke it."
