2-0 win over Aue

Borussia’s wait for their first win since the winter break is finally over! Goals from Oliver Neuville and Rob Friend gave VfL a fully deserved 2-0 victory over Aue at Borussia Park on Friday night.

Players given two days off

After the 2-0 win over Erzgebirge Aue the feeling is one of satisfaction. And for the players the first win in 2008 was made all the sweeter when Borussia boss Jos Luhukay gave them two days off.

Colautti wieder im Training

Ohne Sascha Rösler und Patrick Paauwe, dafür mit Roberto Colautti, hat heute im BORUSSIA-PARK die Vorbereitung auf das am Freitagabend (18 Uhr) anstehende Auswärtsspiel beim FC Augsburg begonnen.

You are right, he wasn't really good lately (he looked pretty "überspielt" during the last weeks). But this inconsistency is quite normal for such a young player, I think...

Against Aue, he finally started again and assisted the 2:0 at least! :)

But he still didn't perform on his level before the winter break, from what I've heard (I didn't see the game)...

I'm happy to be able to finally travel again to an away match! :) Let's hope that I'll be back with 3 points or at least 1 point in the pocket. Augsburg is very strong at home (they only lost the 1st season game against 1860) and will have a pretty full house (20,000-25,000) ... nevertheless, it must be our claim to get the first away win after the winter break!

You and i should take a walk and go back on "memory lane" my friend(we cant get UWE involved..cause his too young to remember..lol),do u remember that heart-breaking REAL MADRID Game??? how on earth did we screw up the return match??? i skipped school when i heard the result in spain...and yes i also cried!!!

I still remember the opening 15-20 minutes...and how gladbach took madrid by STORM,Uli Borowkas shot from mid field...and later on a carnival of GOALS! Oh yes and the one and only legend..Gunter bruns dictating the tembo from back field...along with criens,lienen,mill,rahn..up-front,list goes on!!!

Well, I had a nice trip to Augsburg yesterday ... and the way back was even nicer after this unexpectedly easy 2:0 win for our Foals! :) About 3,500-4,000 Gladbach fans (even from Austria, South Tirol and Switzerland) were all excited!

What a terrific shot from our new "bomber" Rob Friend!!! This Canadian guy is simply amazing! However, the best player on the pitch was our youngster Marko Marin ... whose great dribblings & passes delighted even the host crowd! Here's a quotation from the Augsburg manager Ralf Loose: "Wenn man Marko Marin heute gesehen hat mit seinen Dribblings wie Icke Hässler, dann war das allein das Eintrittsgeld wert."

What a relief to see that Marko finally managed to find his shape from the Vorrunde!
