Roel Brouwers got a surgical intervention on his knee (meniscus) and will not only miss the preparation but also be out for at least 3-4 weeks.

That means we are without any real CB against Kaiserslautern (Gohouri is playing "Africa Cup" and Daems is a LB)...
Supposedly we'll have to play with Daems & Pauuwe on this position, unless we are signing a new CB during the next days.

The team was riding 240 km by bus in order to play a friendly against Malaga FC ... and when the guys arrived at stadium, they got told that the game was cancelled due to an unplayable pitch.

Another bad message from Spain (after Brouwer's injury): Roberto Colautti got injured on his right knee ... with a suspected meniscus crack.
http://www.torfabrik.de/uploads/pics/080116-P-TR_02-0237.jpg
Quotation from torfabrik.de:
Let's hope the injury isn't serious, since this would be terrible not only for Roberto (who had just recovered from a long-time injury) but also for the whole team (don't forget we have to replace Friend against Kaiserslautern).

Colautti & Van den Bergh have left the training camp in Spain and returned to Mönchengladbach for the exact diagnosis of their injuries.

It's too early to say that. I trust in him and hope he won't be a second Sonck. It's like a hex concerning the injuries of strikers at Borussia-Park (Sonck, Neuville, Colautti etc.)...
Unfortunately the fears about Roberto's injury were justified ... since he will be out for a few weeks with a medial collateral ligament crack. :(

No Brouwers & no Colautti against Kaiserslautern - now we have to wait up the diagnosis about Van den Bergh's injury.

At least 2 good news: Sebastian Schachten is finally fit and was tested as a CB against Bern. Nearby he scored the 1:0. And our youngsters Lamidi & Baumjohann played quite well (the latter scored the 3:1).
The only negative aspect of this test match were the 2 late goals we conceded...

3:3 gegen Young Boys Bern

I have explained this b4..unfortunatelly medial collateral are the worse and very scary(compared to lateral collateral) due to the fact that they directly join the meniscus! oh well what can u do...

And here I was hoping that this break would offer some healing time for the players... guess I was wrong. Thinking optimistically here, perhaps some of the players off the bench will take this oppertunity to prove themselves to Luhukay and step up.
On another subject, anyone know any good sites for learning German? I'm taking a beginners course right now, but wanted to do some learning on my own as well.

Another bad news: The LB Johannes Van den Bergh will have to miss the Kaiserslautern game as well ... so we are facing serious problems in the defence (attack, too) for the first game after the winter break.

Quotation from www.borussia.de:
3 injured players (Brouwers, Colautti and Van den Bergh) in Spain - there's the suspicion that the bad pitch at the training camp in Andalusia could be responsible for this.
Btw: Colautti will be out for 6 weeks.

"S.Touma" hasent even remotely been used or showed his abilities due to lack of play-time during the 1st half of the season, his a great player...maybe with all the injuries he would be more utilized and perform to his real standards...thank god we have some points saved in the pocket in case major adjustments needed for the 2nd half might cost us and things might not fly well during first few clashes!

Didn't you read the interview with Sharbel I had posted in this thread some days ago? Ok, I've just forgotten to translate it for you (sorry)... :-)
Touma didn't make the summer preparation and had not played before at Twente, so he simply wasn't fit for the "starting eleven". Let's hope that his time will come now...

Just got a cell phone (finally joined the modern age), so I thought I'd look on Borussia's website to see if I could get some nice stuff for it. They have some great ringtones and backgrounds--but--you cannot get them "Im Ausland" :-((...

Fly in for a home game (the "Aufstiegsparty" would be the best choice:-) and take a look at the stadium fanshop. ;)
Ok, I was joking ... since you won't find any ringtones there:-)
