The fanship seems to be split. Some fans understand his decision ... others are disappointed since he was always considered as that player "mit der Raute in der Brust". Podolski i.e. followed Cologne to the 2nd league and helped them re-
promote before he was sold to Bayern...

I'm finally getting along with the loss after we received a good transfer fee for him.

He said somewhere that the club didn't try to keep him. Meaning that they didn't say "marcell, we need you here at the club, and we want you to stay". They just let the contract talks drag on and didn't give him the impression he was wanted.

That's nonsense! What "contract talks" do you mean? Marcell had a contract until 2009 in Mönchengladbach...

It's no secret that Jansen was in contact with Bayern for a longer time. Therefore, his "accusations" in the direction of Borussia aren't credible but made the impression that he just tried to "justify" his decision to leave the club.

On the other hand, it was also understandable and thus expected that he'd go ... and since he was a Borussia player with merits and the transfer fee was ok, the club decided to agree to this move. If a player wants to go to Bayern, you simply can't stop him (look at Klose i.e.)...

I'm not so happy with this transfer, since I know Rösler very well from his time in Fürth. Both in Fürth and in Aachen he mutated from the fans' "darling" to a "snitcher"...

Since when was he in contact with bayern?

I read somewhere..maybe skysports where he said that he loves the club and he wants to stay but they didn't approach him specifically and say "marcell we want you to stay here, we need you"

Guess how Jansen would have reacted if the club told him that he had to stay in MG and play 2nd league ... instead of accepting the good Bayern offer and following his new girl friend (who lives in Munich) to the Bavarian capital.

Btw: Do you know Sebastian Schachten from Werder Bremen's U23? We seem to be interested in him...

Yes, but the quote I saw in skysports seemed to imply that had gladbach approaced him and said those words - "we want you at the club, we need you to stay" - then he would have stayed. Of course he knew it was going to be in the 2. bundesliga.

Yeah I've heard of schachten...Don't know much about him though. EE will know.

You really believe in this statement? I personally don't...

However, it's over now ... and all sides (Bayern, Jansen and Borussia) came to a fair agreement in my eyes.

Sebastian Schachten:
- solid Regionalliga player
- played most of the time right back
- but is versatile: can also play left back and as a winger

If he can make it into Gladbachs first team is a good question.
IMHO he has the potential for it, but you never know.
Strange is, that he extended his contract at Werder II until 2009
weeks before the transfer to Gladbach, well,
brings Werder some money (450 k € according to TM),
but also means the loss of a starter for the reserve.

Anyways, all the best for him at Gladbach :)
and congrats to you, that Marin stays.

Wesley Sonck, Ze Antonio ("I don't play 2. Liga") & David Degen will probably be the next...

Degen & Ze Antonio didn't appear at the 1st season training, what surely will have consequences for both players.
