The international break is over and Borussia now have four games left before the mid-season break. The first of them is against Kickers Offenbach at the BORUSSIA PARK tomorrow (1800 CET).

Great Marin & Ndjeng "show" and easy home win after a clear increase in performance compared to the last 2 matches!

Glad to see that Coulibaly replaced Rösler pretty well!

Hey, potential new fan here. I've been looking to support a Bundesliga team (along with my current team, DC United), but at the moment am undecisive. I have vaguel followed the progress of this team, and it's cool to see that they're on good pace for promotion. Just wanted to know basic info of the team:

1) top players
2) where I can watch their games (preferrably online)
3) rival teams
4) anything else you might want to add

Welcome mate, nice to meet you! BMG is a good club to support:-)

Btw: Do you maybe know @ BigWave (another DCU & Gladbach fan)? And what is your name & age (if you don't mind telling it)?

1) current top players are: Oliver Neuville, Rob Friend, Roberto Colautti (not fit yet after injury), Sharbel Touma, Marko Marin, Marcel Ndjeng, Patrick Pauuwe.

2) you can watch the 2nd league games only on the bet&win streams (you have to register on their homepage first, though).

3) Cologne, Aachen (derbies), Dortmund ("Borussia rivalry") and Bayern (more in former times, though).

4) Do you have any special questions? If not, just take a look HERE (http://www.borussia.de/en/home,116282,0.html) (you can find some infos in English) and HERE (http://www.borussia.de/de/titel,72,0.html) (for the history - unfortunately only in German).

I figured that Dortmund would be one of Gladbach's rival teams, and I already have the hatred towards Bayern Munich down (I seem to have a thing against ridiculously dominant teams, especially when they buy talent rather than raise the players themselves). As for the team's history, I don't know very much German (I'm taking a 201 course in college), but from what I can gather they were a very dominant team in the 70's.

Nice to know I chose a good club to support! (Oh, and I have seen some of BigWave's posts on the MLS boards, but don't really know the person)

If your looking for "TRADITION" at "ITS BEST" you are in the right palce, if you like over-payed spoiled underachievers you can look towards FC Hollywood..sad thing is HIGH-PAYED bundesliga teams such as bayern are no real threat in europe..all they can do is boast in the bundesliga..wish they could lay-it-down hard where it matters the most!

Anyway welcome :D

What a debut for Roberto Colautti after his long-term injury! :) He came in for the obviously disappointing Rob Friend (he's very poor lately) after 60 minutes ... and scored the important 1:1 equalizer just 2 minutes before the end of the game!

Toda Roberto!

Unfortunately I didn't see the match (only the DSF summary in the late evening), but it seems that we dominated the opponent and missed many good scoring opportunities (Neuville, Pauuwe & Rösler hit the post & bar) before the salvific last-minute equalizer. However, we were also lucky that Wehen/Wiesbaden didn't score the 2:0 just 2 minutes after their surprising lead.

Here's a few match reports with stats:

Später Punkt gegen Wehen

Mit seinem ersten Bundesligator sicherte der eingewechselte Roberto Colautti dem VfL in der 88. Minute einen Punkt im Gastspiel beim SV Wehen.

Too early to get excited but chances are..by the time both colautto and touma are 100% we shall have agreat tools up-front to do as we please, with neuvilles experience added in crush times...looks like the squad will have a solid structure and base to "GO-TO-PLACES"

I always think of what it could have been like..if we had someone like fernando redondo in our midd field!

:D

... or if we still had Stefan Effenberg. ;)

But now we have Patrick Pauuwe, Marko Marin & Marcel Ndjeng ... what isn't such a bad quality either. :-)

Btw: Here's both goals from yesterday (unfortunately no good quality).

PS: Marcel Ndjeng saw yellow/red in the last minute and will have to miss the top game in Freiburg on the next matchday.

Thanks for the clip. Unfortunately I was unable to watch the game (I'm starting to realize the inconvenience of living on the U.S east coast as the games in Germany start at odd times for me). Nice to see that gladbach came out with a point after falling behind. That first goal scored (who was that?) was... wow.

Thats a big blow...but a good challenge to see how much depth this team has and which players can step-up and fill in the gap!
I didnt think much of that guy when he was hired..but he sure has had MASSIVE impact on this team, just like rosler

Well, Gohouri lost his 'starting eleven' spot after the famous "disco affair" the weekend before the derby ... so he surely wouldn't have played from the beginning. However, you never know that happens with the other 2 CB's before & during a game...
