What i think of Hertha is that i think they made a good move in getting Favre as coach, since he has a very good track recrod - if that is anything to go by, i believe he can form a solid team out of Hertha.
Obviously the side isnt there yet, but a loss away to Frankfurt is not tragic either, Eintracht have a pretty underrated team in my opinion.
I believe the talks of Hertha being in a crisis are exagerrated, i think once the team begins to gel a bit better, which could takeup to 5-10 matches, then the team will begin to perform much better. I expect them to finish in the midtable this season, somewhere between 7-12. No brilliant, but it won t be a relegation fight either.
Im glad VfB is playing them this early because i think at this point Herthas form is still low enough for us to be the big favourites going into this game, and im confident we will take 3 points.
I actually hope you are right and I am wrong. But I don't see much fortitude in this side. I see a lot of strife and some stupidity (Mainly Simunic), but not much fortitude. And before people think I'm attacking, I think the same thing about my favorite club too.
Maybe they'll shock me, but honestly, I don't see it. I think they bought badly, but again, time will tell. Maybe I'm wrong.
I see Hertha sliding and I don't know that a good coach is enough to turn it all around.
Depends on how fast he can turn this bunch of individuals into a team.
Or IF he can even do it.....

My sister is going to be in Berlin on Saturday. If she wanted to go to the game, could she just show up at the stadium at gametime and be able to buy tickets? She'll be with several Air Force buddies.

Probably so, don't think it will be sold out. You can get tickets outside of the Olympic Gate.

Hertha are negotiating with Tobias Grahn, the Swedish midfielder who almost single-handedly defeated Hertha in the UEFA CUp last year while at OB Odense. He has sinced moved to Gimnastic in the Spanish 2nd division, but Hertha are going to try to loan him with an option to buy. I don't know how well he did in Spain, but I was quite impressed with him when he played against Hertha, and hopefully, he will have success like Pantelic and Gimenez have become in this "loaning->buying option" transfer that Hertha have so far done so well in.

Way to ********ing jinx my team :(
Well done Hertha KSC, though the penalty was an incorrect decision, you were clearly the better side, especially in the second half, and i cant complain about the result - it was deserved.

Ta mate.
Couple of snippets from the Berlin Morgenpost:
Hertha have offered 1.7 mio euros for Loukas Vyntras, final offer for Panathanaikos. I think Vyntras has already agreed to terms with Hertha.
Tobias Grahn will have a medical either today or tomorrow, after Hertha agreed to a 250.000 euro loan fee.
Hertha are after another mittelstuermer: Raffael saga continues, but Hertha have other options, including the 2nd top scorer of the Brazilian league, Botofogo's Andre Lima.

Kicker taking a stand against diving with their player ratings? I was shocked to see Lucio's "6" today, considering he also had another assist on the corner. I thought he did well that day, surely kicker is thinking about just the penalty?

Good signing. Hopefully he follows in the same steps as Pantelic and Gimenez :)

I'm pretty sure he got the 6 because of that disgusting dive.
Hate to see dives like that pay off.
Imo, even Toni should have at least gotten a yellow for his dive. It should be like in the NHL, give the penalty but caution the player for dives at the same time.

Looks like another striker will come to Hertha, as Brazilian Andre Lima will sign soon. The fee is reported to be up to 3.5 mio euros.
Also, Hertha have agreed to loan left defender Dennis Cagara to Nordsjaellund for at least half a season. He still has a future here at Hertha, rest assured

You aren't alone. I'm actually surprised he doesn't get suspended for a match for that dive.
EDIT: Note that Kinhoefer the referee also only got a 5 as a rating.

Well...defensive lapses cost us another game. When will Simunic finally once and for all be dropped????
Lucio and Ebert was quite unlucky...I thought offensively we did alright, but our forwards lack cutting edge. Grahn especially looked out of sorts, but thats normal I suppose for someone who just came to the club. Hopefully Andre Lima will sort that out for us.

Isn't Simunic the best paid Hertha defender?
I'm reading the [official]Hertha forum quite often and he's not really popular there either, partly because of the amount of money he gets.

I still think Lucio can prove to be a smart transfer.

Very soon. Friedrich stayed only under the condition that he would play CB. For the spot next to him von Bergen should have the edge over Simunic.

I'm hearing nothing but good things about von Bergen so far. Rumor has it that my fools at BVB (management) are kicking themselves for not going after von Bergen.

Back from vacation.
I think that our CB situation is 1) Friedrich, 2) van Bergen and 3)Simunic. Favre doesn't really like him, and who can blame him. That problen is he has a contract to 2011! and gets paid royally.
Andre Lima will be a good signing for us. I think he's a classic forward from what I can go by. His signing paved way for Croat Srdjan Lakic to join Dutch 1st division side Heracles Almelo on loan. Good luck to him, but he kinda sucks so...lol

Looks like another defender is about to join, Loukas Vyntras mini-saga seems to be over and Hertha will sign him for 1.7 mio euros.
