Well Friday's game will probably decide whether or not we are for real and getting better or we're just doing another Hertha BSC and cock it up again..

hey guys, i'm not trying to be disrespectful, but I'd like to know what you thought of Gilberto and Kevin Prince-Boateng, because since coming to spurs, both have been very mediocre, with Gilberto having a horrendous debut for us today, and boateng doing practically nothing of value all season. were they better players at hertha or what? what did people see as their strong points that would earn them a transfer to spurs?

In my opinion, K-P-B was always severely overrated. I think his younger brother Jerome (now at Hamburg) is the better player of the two. I think K-P-B does have the potential to be a fantastic player, but I also believe he's so damned arrogant, he thinks he doesn't have to work hard for it.

I can't say much about Gilberto. The guy can play, but he's used to a more tactically refined game than you guys play in the Premiership. He also might not have the pace for the English game anymore.

However, I would say to give Ramos more time with him before you pass judgment.

I know that Gilberto made a horrible mistake against PSV, Gilberto is a decent player, but is not really suited for the English game I fear. K-P-B is pretty overrated IMHO. He's quite arrogant and once he has a few games where he shows his talent, he becomes quite complacent.

Crap Kehl scored at the halftime mark

Well, Boateng was always regarded as a good prospect but to be honest he never really played that great imo.
He had 4 goals and 7 assists in 42 Bundesliga games, not bad but also nothing spectacular and even kicker ratings can be deceiving he only was rated better than 3 (average) 4 times.

http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/spielersteckbrief/object/33610/saison/2005-06

It's relatively unusual to play in the Bundesliga as an 18-year old so that alone made people think highly of him and made people overrate him I guess.
One should never assume that because a player gets to play in the Bundesliga at a very young age he'll become a great player (Christian Timm) even though I also sometimes do that.

TOLH, your yank McLoughlin scored against our U19 team, but we still won 4:1! Har har! ;)

I don't think 3 is average, 4 is IMO. 3 is pretty good. Pantelic has an average rating of 3,20 or something, and he's been much more than average for us.

Actually, I'd say 3.5 is pretty much average. I think "4" is just a bit below average.

I know it doesn't even out, but when you see how some players are graded, yes, I'd say 3.5 is right at average.

Actually you are right...players with a 4 average are generally regarded as bad.

Tobias Grahn on the other hand...wow! :D

Pretty much. "5" is "really bad" and "6" is absolutely horrible.

Seeing as the absolute middle rating is 3.5, I think it's fair to say that 3.5 is the average rating ;)

3 = fairly good, or solid contribution, etc etc.

Cagara reveals that he has not had any contact with Hertha for the last 6 months and he feels somewhat disappointed in Hertha due to lacking contact. He takes at is Hertha have no interest in him anymore. Sounds like the divorce papers are ready to be signed at the summer break..

Shame really, he has a good future ahead of him, but was totally unlucky with injuries. Guess Favre doesn't rate him.

I'm not disputing it. I'm sure someone there is interested. I just said I had not heard that one.

In the kicker article below, Dieter Hoeness denies there has been any offers or questions from any club concerning Arne Friedrich.

He also insists there are no "out clauses" in Friedrich's contract.

Kicker.de: Keine Angebot für Friedrich (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/376121/)

Yea its been rumored that Roma are interested in Friedrich. Wouldn't mind if he went for the right price, he is an important player and our captain, but I think we can survive without him (or at least with the money find a suitable replacement).

Just read on the Kurier that Favre is planning on offloading Pantelic

He claims that Pante doesn't work hard enough for the team and is too selfish with possession...

Not only is that blatantly false IMHO (Pantelic has become much more of a team player now), but the simple fact is who else on team can do the things he can do? Raffael, and thats it. Ebert has potential, but still has a bit to go. The fact is is that we've only scored 26 goals this season, and Pantelic has scored or assisted on 15! of them. You simply cannot go around and say he doesn't work for the team when he's more than HALF our offense!!

I like Favre but his vendetta against Pantelic, which has been there since the beginning of his time here, is really stupid I must sa.

Apparently, he can. LOL!! ;)

You really think it's true?? Because if Favre wanted to get rid of Pantelic, he could have easily done so during the winter break. I think the story is bullshit just because Hertha are looking at that young Tunesian striker as "Kicker" reported on here. (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/183345)

I know you don't believe everything you read, do you?? ;)
