Thats great news... i didnt know we have ANY money for transfers. In that case, i hope they dont sell Pantelic.
You guys really don't think that will happen, do you?
i also agree that he would most likely be on the bench at Chelsea, but they are concerned about African Cup of Nations taking Kalou and Drogba.
They've also got Shevchenko, Pizarro and Wright-Phillips can move up to striker. If they need more, they some Premiership striker. They've got the money.
They can buy Huntelaar from Ajax too.

This really makes me chuckle - we sold him for 4 million to Sevilla and since arriving he has done little there. And Now suddenly the next team that buys him might have to dish out some serious cash :p
I don't know if I should find that funny or frustrating, I always thought we had a good deal when we got 4 mil. for him

Spanish labor law. Messi and Eto'o have release clauses of 150 million euros in their contract. It's just an amount the club's sure no one's going to come up with. Same with Hinkel and the 15 million.
I bet Wolfsburg will get him for around 3 to 5 million.

I knew this, I hope Golfsburg don't get him.

Quo vadis, Hertha?
After the 1:2 defeat in Karlsruhe, it's surely going to be a tough mission to reach an international spot this season...

I don't think we'll make it there this year. We have a virtually completely new squad (and it will be when we buy a Right back and another player as promised) and it will take time. I will be patient with the team, but I am a bit perplexed at the downturn of form of Friedrich...

Friedrich just needs to stfu and play fullback. He's paid more than enough compensation.
The little money Hertha has has to be spend on central midfielders. Currently only Gilberto and Simunic are somewhat competent in that area.
Gilberto will probably leave after the season and hopefully he will. Another 2,5+ million wage has only disadvantages, obviously financially, but also regarding team cohesion. On top of that he's frankly not worth it.
Simunic does alright, but also earns an immense wage and is just not good enough in the position to justify that. He'd also be needed in defense, should Friedrich go back to right fullback.
Lustenberger showed promise vs Karlsruhe, but he'll have to be further evaluated and would need a partner as well as a backup.
To my knowledge, there's no promissing central midfielder coming up through the youth ranks at the moment either. Cubukcu and Mueller just aren't good enough, Tseke isn't ready yet and for all I'm told won't be ripe for a starting spot next season either.
There are some interesting 2nd Bundesliga players for that position, namely Takyi ( St. Pauli ) and Uzoma ( Freiburg ). Takyi's contract will expire in summer as well. Both would probably be within the financial limits.

kicker gave Lustenberger a 4,5 and friedrich a 3,5
I would love to see Pitroipa come to Hertha, he would be quality.

Also, Gilberto has complained to Lucien Favre that he wants to have a rest and reduced training. I can understand this as he's played in the summers of 2005, 06 and 07, and he deserves it, but we need him to play at least these two matches, or else we're truly ********ed against Bayern and Nurnberg!
Gilberto's contract status is still up in the air too. 2.5 mio euros a year he is asking for though, I don't think he's worth it.

Bayern next :( THe only thing I can put my hat on is Bayern's lack of form lately (or relative lack of form) but to say that I am hopeful for even a point at this stage would be wrong, I just hope we don't get schlacked. Not a good way to go into the winter break, unless a miracle happens.

If Bayern play like they have been since Bolton then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. We're missing a bunch of players as well (Kahn, Lucio, Toni, Altintop, Jansen, Sagnol) and Podolski and Schweinsteiger are going to start, both haven't played in a while.
To be honest, this could well be a draw at the end of the day unless the Bayern players get a bolt of electricity up their asses and finally wake up.
Pantelic is a tricky striker and I can see him giving Van Buyten a tough time. Best of luck though.

Good way to end a very inconsistent first half of the season.
Marko Pantelic...what a player. He definitely has shown at least this first half that even if he doesn't score he is a terrific player. Man of the First Half for us by far. The way he holds up the ball and brings everyone else into the play is great.
Simunic was awesome today, and goes to show to you that Friedrich should really STFU and just play RB. If only they can play this tight all the time :(

One good Simunic match and Friedrich should STFU??
How quickly we forget all the stupid red cards and penalties Simunic has taken in the past to cost Hertha points......
I understand your joy. However, you guys caught a sleeping FC Bayern. We did too. That's how I understand.
But one good match from Simunic and Friedrich should STFU? Man, I think you have a very short memory.

Looks like Hertha will be signing Raffael. Fee 5 million euros.
Former BvB striker Stephane Chuipuisat seems to like him a lot. Lets hope he's right
When the former Borussia Dortmund goal-scoring legend Stephane Chapuisat talks about Raffael - the striker Hertha are currently chasing, he gets a certain glint in his eye. The 38 year old former Bundesliga goal-getter described the 22 year old Brazilian striker to the KURIER.
"Raffa is the finished product as far as strikers go. He is lightning quick, can shoot with both feet and is a superb dribbler. He is a striker who doesn't wait for the game to come to him, he needs a lot of the ball."
"I forsee a mega-career for him. He has enough quality to break into the Brazilian national team at some point in time. Sadly for us Swiss people, to do that he has to leave the Swiss league, and prove himself at a higher level. Hertha would be the perfect club for him, and with Lucien Favre in charge, he would have a coach who knows his qualities and would back him to the hilt."
