The FA have confirmed this fixture as well as the DFB now, so we look forward to it going ahead and maybe being the first team to beat England at the new Wembley stadium.
Keep posting on this thread in the buildup to the game...
PS. Feel free to adjust the title of the thread if you deem necessary, mods ;)

Arf, fat chance! We play Brazil tonight :p

Brazil aren't so good right now in their rebuilding phase after the world cup, so there's a chance that it might be a draw and that the first result would be on August the 22nd, hopefully a Germany win.
If that happens, in light of the last result at the old Wembley Stadium, do they rename the stadium after Germany?

So let's press our thumbs for Engerland tonight. ;)

They'll have no other choice! :D

Unlike other posters here, I like England and have no "beef" with them. I believe they have a huge talent pool and talent and world class players in just about every position. However, success at a NT level is always hindered by idiotic management and that hasn't stopped with McClaren, thats why I think we can beat England and thats why I can see an out of form and inexperienced Brasil taking their game to them as well.
It's great to be on top of the world again as a NT though! :)

Although I'm an Ireland & Scotland sympathizer, I don't have any problems with them either (except for a certain yellow press paper:-).
Last summer, I got to know 2 nice guys from St. Helens in Nürnberg ... and we have a frequent e-mail contact since I sent them many nice pics. ;)

Can't believe to see the "dwarf" Diego score a header goal against Terry & Co!

That was a defensive error from King, if he would have tracked him he could have easily outjumped him. England blew it and lost concentration in the last minute. Oh well......nothing will change with that team unless managenet is completely overhauled like was the case with Germany and Klinsi or Dunga and Brasil.

This should be fun for banter, especially since most people here are English fans. :)
I don't mind the English team, seeing as the "rivalry" is mostly on their part anyway. SOME of their fans on the other hand, the less said the better, but that's true for every team.

Finally a game worth watching. This game will have goals and i cant wait for it. Hopefuly Germany can score atleast 3, but it will also be exciting if its a close game with lots of goals. I sorta of expect a German win they are the superior team here.

For me, the only reason for "winding up" england is because I went to a british international school growing up, so the natural talk is always there, especially when england big themselves up :)
No hate at all, and I actually felt sorry for them when they went out on penalties in 06.
There's no other rivalry there. I think the reasons for england having this one-way rivalry that you allude to are stupid (the war etc etc)

As for the game, I think if germany have ballack and one of schweinsteiger/borowski back and don't show england too much respect (and I don't think they will - this team has progressed to far for that) just because of the name "England", we can win 3-0 or 4-1.

England rarely gives up 3 goals at home. 4 goals? That hasn't happened since 1953 - the famous "Match of the Century" with Hungary winning 6-3, at Wembley. And England had been unbeaten at home against teams from outside the British Isles for more than 50 years before that match.
If you think you're going to be able to thrash England by that much - you won't do it in their own country.
I agree on Ballack and I would like to see Klose - as he substituted for Ballack in the 2001 Munich game. Yes, that game. Those two are the only players left from that roster and it would be nice to see revenge taken, even if only in a friendly. Possibly Podolski could be back for this one too. He might not be fit but against a defense like England's it would be a great match in which to find out.
Beckham back for England makes them interesting again. Rooney playing would also be very entertaining. Owen has lost a lot of pace. I have never thought Gerrard and Lampard were a good duo in midfield. Crouch can be marked effectively by Metzelder.

If germany do play a full team and take it seriously, I do think a 3-0 or 4-1 is possible.
I'm not respecting the name "england". Until they play really good football they won't be treated as a team that can't have 3 goals put past them by one of the best international teams around. Look at macedonia comfortably controlling the midfield at old trafford against england. I'm not saying we can go to paris and win 3-0. Or to Italy. Not at all.
And actually, england gave up 3 goals in 1972 at wembley to west-germany. Could have been more as well.

Hopefully Löw is also going to use that match to try out Tasci and Khedira. Would be an awesome debut for them!

I hope that everyone plays. Everyone will be fit by this time so they should play. We didn't play a weakened team against switzerland so why not play full strength against england?

Dude, relax. You're hyping up this game way too much. You're gonna be disappointed.

Yes, especially with both England and Germany playing qualification matches on September 8 (Israel, Wales, respectively).
