[I've posted about this before, so I apologize, but it was in the middle of some other thread, and I wanted to see what everyone thought without digging up an old thread.]
I was wondering what people thought my best course of action for next year should be, in regards to Arsenal ticketing.
I'm living in England for the next year, possibly two. I'm teaching at a boarding school about an hour from London. The school year is early September through late June, so I'll be in the country for basically every Arsenal fixture for this season and the next.
The school is on the British 3-term schedule, so I have a break mid-December to mid January as well as late March to late April. Generally, class IS in session on Saturday, though on about 7 in-term Saturdays I'll be free (due to "leave-outs" and "exeats").
Premiership: According to my calculations and calendar reading, (all social life and other travels excluded) I will be able to make 16 Saturday league games and every Sunday league game (however many there are. 12 this year).
Champions League: I could potentially make it to every home fixture, though I don't know my exact schedule, so I have no idea if I'd have time to travel after class. Outside of term-time, according to the provisional CL schedule for 07-08, there is Matchday 6, Knockout Round 1st Leg, and both Quarterfinal Legs.
To summarize: 16 Saturdays + ~10 Sunday + at least 4 Champions League.
That's 30 games that look to be 100% makeable for me over the next year. Possibly more, considering Carling Cup and FA Cup. Hell, if I was given 30 minutes notice of a replay at St. Mary's, I could probably get there in time.
The Questions: Does it make sense for me to get a Red Membership? (I'm assuming the answer to that one is yes) Can I still get tickets through Arsenal America for select games? Have I made any bad assumptions? Things I haven't considered?
Sorry for such a long post. In a way, this was more a clarification to myself than anything else. But I'd really appreciate any help/advice you guys could give. I look forward to meeting some of you all at next year's campaign.
