One of you, or some of you, kindly invited me to a pre-match tailgate a while back, and I wanted to take you up on it for this Saturday's game. I'm presuming that I just show up in Lot 8 any time from 5pm with some beers and a few sausages. Also, is it okay to bring a couple of other people? I've never actually been to a tailgate before, as in the UK they're the preserve of the rugby crowd (who drink champagne and eat roast pheasant from bottomless hampers), so all advice on whether to wear a black tie etc. is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ian.

Wear whatever you have on... there is no dress code. For the most part people wear DC United related garb. Pretty much, dress to be comfortable and to have a good time.

Careful how you use the "Virgin" word around La Barra. ;) Basically, yeah just show up and enjoy. If you want to see where La Barra parties go to www.barra-brava.com and click on tailgate. Or look for our flags and tent. Look forward to meeting you...

Obviously it's a joke as we all know there's no such thing as a "nice" MetroStars jersey.
I'm trying to decide which is the lesser of 2 evils, a pasty Englishmen in a thong or a Metros jersey!
:p

When we cook the sausages, we can always burn that along with the Lincoln City jersey...

Erm yes, it was a joke about the Metrostars jersey, as was the original question about how best to dress. Sorry, but I've an aversion to smilies, so it's probably best to assume that when I post I'm usually joking. Unless, of course, I'm not.
Here's a test example: Hristo Stoichkov is a gentleman and a credit to the game of soccer, MLS and DC United.
I had a nice invite from the SE to come to their tailgate. I'd no idea this was all so organised and involved tickets and stuff (my usual habit is to arrive at the game just in time to avoid the national anthem). Anyway, I'll be the one with flames going up the back of my red and white striped Lincoln shirt.

Especially since they may have to consider a virgin sacrifice to save the season. :)

Right. And it doesn't state who's death. http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/images/icons/icon9.gif
