Well, as long as we get Appiah I can live with the thought of Lincoln in a Gala shirt..;)
I agree. He was very impressive in the World Cup and we need the European Cup experience. I hope he's actually 27. Africans have a tendency to lie about their ages, you know. And I also am looking forward to the development of Oezil. He did well as a second half substitute last season and I can't wait to see what he'll do in a full 90 minutes.

No, I don't know. Please elaborate.

I thought only Dominicans in Baseball lie about their age;)
Anyway I like some of the moves they are doing, and it would be fantastic if we got Appiah. Hope this won't be the end of signing class players, though. Just want to see us go to the next level, now that we have some money to use (of course we don't just want to waste it, though).

I wouldn´t take anything from a turkish paper as source that serious, they are always OTT when it comes to specualtions and writing what people like to read..;)
Whatever the outcome will know soon..

Yeah you guys might want to forget about Appiah, he said he wasn't leaving, and the team wants to keep him, too. I can now stop crossing my fingers and start celebrating, we really need Appiah in the CL.
Good luck to you guys, too. Schalke is one of the few teams in Europe I follow and support. :D

WTF..????
There is a club in Ghana named Schalke 04..
Cape Coast, June 30 GNA - Schalke 04 on Thursday reaped goal harvest when they massacred Eagles 6-2 in the Cape Coast Municipal Juvenile League match played at the Adisadel Park. Midfielder, Isaac Asare who played a yeoman's game scored a hat-trick to seal the doom of Eagles.
After drawing 2-2 at the end of the first half, Schalke 04 came back strongly to score four more goals through outside right Samuel Annan and Joseph Mensah who scored two goals each to bring the full time scores to 6-2 in favour of Schalke 04.

It was part of the San Diego County Soccer League. Had some German players and a German Coach. Unfortunately, there no longer is a team by the name "Schalke".....for now.

We should really start up a minor Schalke team somewhere sunny like Florida or California, as our supporters association already own a travel agency we could ship loads of people there for the ultimate "Fan in the Sun.." experience.
PS..I´m willing to come along as a translator in february, PLEASE! :D

Schalke vs Middlesborough 3-0...
Quote:
FC Schalke 04:
Neuer - Rafinha (38. Boenisch), Bordon (46. Westermann), Krstajic, Pander (61. Abel) - Ernst (68. Kunert), Kobiashvili (61. Bajramovic) - Rakitic (46. Azaouagh) - Asamoah (61. Heppke), Kuranyi (68. Delura), Løvenkrands (46. Altintop)
FC Middlesbrough: Turnbull (65. Knight) - Davies (46. Hines), Wheater, Pogatetz, Grounds (46. Tylor) - Rochemback (46. Cattermole), Boateng (46. Kennedy) - Tuncay Sanli (46. Craddock), Johnson (70. Walker) - Morrison (46. Euell), Yakubu Aiyegbeni
Tore: 1:0 Kuranyi (4.), 2:0 Asamoah (44.), 3:0 Azaouagh (55.)
Zuschauer: 3000
Rakitic played a lot better than the last game and this time he was the central player behind 3 forwards which gave him loads of opportunities to pass the ball..which he did well tonight!
particularly important might be that he linked up well with both Lövenkrands and Kuranyi in front and Pander in the back..Because these players will play regular games and if Rakitic connect them well, so will he!
I might say that his main "rival" in this position, Azaouagh (they played a half each) also had a good game and I feel a lot more optimistic about the position behind our forwards right now.
That said Boro was not at full strength and playing their first real game this summer...

VELTINS Arena sets new attendance record
Since moving to the VELTINS Arena in 2001 FC Schalke 04 have registered more than a million spectators to their 17 Bundesliga home matches six seasons in a row. And the season just ended was the best ever.
A total of 1,042,921 spectators attended the 17 home league games - exactly 130 more than the previous record season in 2004/05 (1,042,791). The average attendance of 61,348 included 13 sell-out fixtures. The only matches not to sell out were those against VfL Wolfsburg (60,404), Hannover 96 (61,031), FSV Mainz 05 (61,162) and Energie Cottbus (61,058), this because the visitors did not take up their full contingent of standing tickets in the away section.
...and already several matches sold out for the new season.

Anyone heard about this? I know it's from Bild, but still interesting.
Fenerbahce are offering K. Kuranyi a 4 year contract worth 40 million euros, they are willing to pay 32 of those 40 million right away!
But still, if they want him that bad why not make a larger bid than 15 mio euros? 15 is of course better than their first bid of 10 mio.
They sure don't take no for an answer.

Blöd-Zeitung is not really a reliable source...:D
They just translate a few articles from the turkish gutter press and add 2 and 2 which equals 50 in their book...
