Well, the latest rumour puts Özil in...Hannover

Replacement for Rosenthal perhaps?

Özil gone to Bremen for €5m or summat...Good!

Now lets get concentrated on the league, we got VfB coming up soon, tricky game that.

5 million is a good price for an unwanted player. I didn't see Bremen going for a midfielder of Özil's type. Apperentley they were temped by the opportunity to sign him since it was clear he was to leave S04. Müller can be pleased with the sale.

4-1....What a glorious win against Stuttgart today :D

The scoreline flatters though, 3-2 would have been more fair but I´m not complaining.
Two goals by Kuranyi, pity he got a yellow and is out against BvB.
Westermann shows his class with a third goal when the game was at a critical point.
And as dessert a really nice combination by Sanchez and Ze Roberto for the final goal.

Kohle unter unsern Füßen,
Schlote ragen hoch hinaus.
Unsere Heimat Ruhrrevier,
unser Club der S04,
ja so ists & so wirds auch ewig sein!

Kuranyi once again showed what an idiot he was - getting a yellow for taking off his shirt in celebration, and thus missing your guys's derby. How stupid can someone be?

I think the score didn't reflect the game, but you guys were better overall and deservedly got the 3 points i'd say. Congratulations.

We don´t rely that much on Kuranyi but I guess he just forgot about his 4 previous yellows.
Anyway, VfB starting a new player against us did surprise me..it did look foolish at times, the defence leaked to say the least.

Highlights anyone?

funnily enough that new player got the best rating of our entire side yesterday :D

But yeah, we only had to do that in the first place since in Tasci, Osorio, Boka and Magnin, many of our most important defenders were missing.

The main difference between yesterdays VfB and last years version is that VfB have lost something, concentration perhaps..or focus?

It´s something that makes me think that VfB is not really a "team" right now...Or I´m just talking nonsense perhaps.

No, your obviously right somewhere, the team is different, the problem is we haven't figured out how.

Injuries have played a role: Magnin, Delpierre, Osorio, Hitzlsperger, Gomez, Cacau were all key players last season and have been injured at some point this year.

Transfers too: Schaefer is a horrible replacement for Timo, Gledson was a waste of time, Basturk has been injured most of the time, Ewerthon was a failure, Marica hasn't really produced yet...

and along with these factors, also team spirit it seems is gone somewhere, as well as our confidence. But I think whatever problems the team has are fixable, and i'm confident they will be fixed. what's most important is to try and get back up and make a finish in the top 6(with the 3 teams ahead of us being Frankfurt, Hannover and KSC, this should be possible if we find our form) and then do our best to be ready to return to top-three contenders for next season. and of course try our luck in this year's cup.

again, congratulations on the three points.

Short summary of this:
you played shit and deserved to lose the match.
Thats exactly what I saw too.
Thank you

You definitely deserved the 3 points. I don't see what was the need for such a ************ response, but I guess I should've expected it.

EDIT: mind you, that post had nothing to do with the game on Sunday.

DERBYSIEG!!!!

An action packed Ruhr derby produced five goals with Schalke ultimately coming out on top thanks to a late strike from Fabian Ernst.
Gerald Asamoah had given the visitors the lead on 19 minutes only for Federico to equalise two minutes later. A Martin Amedick own goal restored Schalke's lead before Mladen Petric got Dortmund back on level terms early in the seconf half.
The away side were the ones to find the winning breakthrough with Ernst scoring five minutes from time with Dortmund down to ten men following Dede's sending off.

How prosaic the papers put it, it was blood and steel clashing on the field and the deciding moment was (in my view) Dede being sent off after chopping down Rakitic.
First bundesliga goal for Ernst in a Schalke shirt as well, the constant booing of Asamoah, the banter, the minor scuffles between fans, the own goal...It was brilliant :D

What a fine Sunday, a super Sunday.

2:3 ha, well!
On the way home from Dortmund, we drink more beer than the car needs on both ways.

Oh happy day.

So Cottbus, we serve you Dortmund well done.

Schalke has everything in this season in own hands.

So .."werdet Legende"...!
