do you guys think slomke will be fired? ever since he has benched rakitic shalke has struggled..very puzzling to me because he was starting before international break..i watched the match shalke vs chelsea and even the commentators were praising him saying he should have started..:(

Honestly...I have no idea but something must be done about our inability to score in games that we dominate.

It´s not really about firing Slomka..it´s about finding a way to play that allow us to score.

kuranyi and asomouagh are both hard working players but they have not been able to score..they really dont have a very good finisher at striker..slomke should play ozil and rakitic as they are there 2 most creative players..good luck against chelsea i will be rooting for you guys..

Kudos to you guys. Excellent match. You were playing top class football tonight. Unfortunately you were unlucky scoring. Too bad. You really deserved the win.

Schalke performed well tonight and can be satisfied seeing Valencia lost. But at the same time, they would've had it in them to get the three points today, had they used their chances better.

I've seen the match summary and can't believe how many chances you have missed tonight! Nevertheless, congrats on an apparently good performance!

Hard to say whether it's good or bad for you that Rosenborg managed to win in Valencia ... but my gut feeling tells me that it could be a help in the end.

You should win at home to Rosenborg, even if Chelsea and Valencia failed in that, and then I think it'll all come down to the match away to Valencia, in which I think with a draw (8 points altogether) you'd make it out of the group, since Valencia would be behind you going into that match assuming you beat Rosenborg and they lose to Chelsea.

But this is all hypothetical, we'll see how the next game go. But you need atleast 4 points in any case.

Its Valencia away first
then Rosenborg at home

We have to win both to qualify

If we just had a forward in form...

Well, that's what you get for over-relying on Kurvanyi...

Funnily we didn´t this season...We just never got anyone free of injuries long enough to partner him :(

what position does that Brazilian ze roberto play that we just picked up? midfield or forward?

we need another forward.

Attacking midfielder I think....

But yes..We need an extra forward, at least of international class.

I think Larsen can be that forward if you give him some playing time other than starting him against one of the better defenses in the world in Schalke. He needs confidence.

larsens ok but id rather get someone better, hes a good back up i think, although he is a good player but if schalke want to be a regular in europe, they need someone better to depend on to finish.

http://shakhtar.com/mpl/player.pl?id=40 - this guy can play, and the price wouldn't be as much

and since zenit st. Petersburg have a partnership with schalke they could pick this guy up, if possible

http://www.fc-zenit.ru/eng/person.phtml?id=9

if we can get this guy, id be happy, best player in russia for the last few years, all his accomplishments are listed there.

both are good
what do you guys think

Arshavin would command probably 10+ mio euros IMHO. I would think that he's a quality player though and well worth it.

Ährlich, ich bin sauer.

"We can't win."

We take the teams down but finally we get nothing.
It's like the pest we had.

Aber die Stunde des Siegers schlägt irgendwann.

Let's see forward and beat the HSV and another silver strip will arise at the horizont

See you in the Arena.

BTW, I agree TOLH that Larsen should get more playtime - I really rated him in his first year at Schalke and he played well... since then he hasn't gotten enoug opportunities. but he is capable, just needs chances.
