DC United vs Colorado Rapids
• Wednesday, June 11, 9:30EST •

Its nearly halftime now and Knave had a big dinner so I am starting the Post Match. We have had plenty of shots early and are doing pretty well offensively. We have taken alot of shots wide and high. Chung has a great chance early and burned all our defense and almost got a header into the goal. Our defence has been weak and hopefully it will get better soon. We generate great chances and the WMET webcast commentator is on speed.

0-0

Honestly, with the play-by-play guy I listened to, I don't even know what happened.

thats cause he's on crack. His name now is crack boy. So within our ranks we have Dancing Boy, Crack Boy, the crazy bulgarian, Ray Cannotasub, wanker and the Serial Masterbator.

0-0 draw...

Again.....

It's still better than a loss....

It sounds like we generated tons of chances late in the match and in overtime as well.. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the crowd at Grevey's has to say about our decided lack of finishing...

Anybody else worried out there that with Convey and Nelsen gone (notice I didn't even mention Stewart) we will struggle to score goals? I have no doubts the defense will do it's job, but scoring goals will be a big problem in the next few weeks..

The only saving grace is that our next two matches are at home and we have been playing rather well at RFK this season..

Bring on Columbus....

That sucks. I didn't see the game, but it sure sounded like we had chances. That finisher cannot get here soon enough. Cureton, if you're as good as advertised, Uncle Phil wants YOU.

ok. whine if you want, but we still played well... well except for the scoring. Thats ok though, for while you disciples of Sornum may see this as a vast negative, I see a glass that is half full.

--Sure DC SHOULD beat a crap team on the road, but we ARE a crap team on the road. The end net? A tie. Fair enough. Let us come home, destroy the Crew, and we will have 11 pts and feel alright come Monday morning... (well at least those not in the Barra ;) ) As bad as we are on the road... The Crew is even worse at RFK!!! Vamos United!

A quick look at MLSNet's game log shows that Garlick made his second save of the match in the 98th minute, and Rimando only seemed to make two as well. Did DC and Colorado really have so few chances?

It sounded like DC created a fair amount of chances(based on the WMET webacast) and that Stoitchkov made some good crosses that others couldn't capitalize on. Hard to know from the play by play guy given his streaming, had-to-be-on-amphetimines way of calling the game. At a minimum, DC sounded more dangerous throughout the game, even before the Colorado player was sent off. It also sounded like Nelsen had some chances to win the game that he couldn't put away. This is a game DC should have won it seems.

0-0 ties are worse than kissing a member of your own family....Oh well, at least we have a two game non-losing streak....

Hmmm...then for a better example, think about how your wife feels when she has to kiss you. :D

Standard DC game

1) We maintained most of the possession

2) We had to many crosses and long balls to the 5 foot 6 crowd

3) No one will shoot the fing ball. That series in the 98th or so minute (no clock on the broadcast) defines our season

4) No one on this team makes a midfield run. No one (except Bobby) They all stand around waiting for the ball

5) The Hristo for Ali sub sucked. Why not sub q2 who was horrible

Another typical performance which is not a good thing

Yes we did. Too bad more of our players didn't grow up watching football, where it's legal to pass the ball forward

2) We had to many crosses and long balls to the 5 foot 6 crowd

To be fair, even if we had Andre the Giant at center forward, we couldn't have reached half those crosses. Just terrible execution on them.

Acutally, the sequence at about the 80th minute where Stoichkov delivers a perfect ball to Etcheverry defines us perfectly. The ball is perfect, the entire defense is checking out real estate in Vail and Etch suddenly remembers he has no right foot. Too bad that's where Stoichkov's pass goes. Etch tries to dribble to his left, gets off a weak shot that goes wide.

Time to crank up the "eriF nusdoH" bandwagon again.
