The government in Iran is ruthless and uncivilized , we all can agree on this and if you cant agree on this then your not a Iranian. Recently these scumbags started a massive crack down on “un Islamic ” elements in Iran. This includes beating up street thugs , beating man/women who are dressed “inappropriately” and arresting Iranian-Americans who visit Iran. I don’t see how the government in Iran thinks this will benefit them . Who is in charge of Iran? Because its obvious that he is out of touch with reality , no one in the right state of mind would believe that these actions will some how benefit Iran. The more fuel they add to this growing fire the sooner they will be overthrown.
Here are some videos and photos of these recent crack downs.

My theory is that the government is trying to keep people's minds off the real problems and keeping them busy iwth this.

No, the police don't bother non-Iranians. (Here is a British citizen's account (http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23393411-details/Iran:+A+nation+of+nose+jobs,+not+nuclear+war/article.do) of his travel to Iran)
The guy in the first video is a knife-wielding street thug, and the four Iranian-Americans who have got arrested recently are political figures working for American think-tanks. The regime fears political figures, not tourists.

So ********ing what? Your trying to justify a horrific act because the guy is a thug . I don’t care if you’re a murderer , no one deserves to be treated like that , this only occurs in countries like Iran because we have a uncivilized government and in some cases PEOPLE. I am tired of Iranians on Big Soccer who try to paint a different image of Iran for the Big Soccer non-Iranian audience , you know its uncivilized so just say it as it is , don’t walk around the issue .
Also , the arrest of Iranians is uncalled for and also unjustified , I know you don’t believe every word that the government of Iran says so why are you believing them this time? And even if they did work for an American think-thank ( in a couple of cases they did ) that doesn’t give them any reason to arrest them.

They wont ******** with American citizens , that would be pushing it even for the Iranian government specially with the current situation . The people will welcome Americans , they are mostly friendly as long as you visit the tourists destinations . Some parts of Iran , even Persian speaking citizens are not welcomes , like most of the parts near the Afghanistan border .

Oh save it, val. Police beat up criminals all over the world. Is it uncivilized? Yes. Is it uncommon? No. I don' approve of police brutality, but this guy is a knife-wielding gang-banger, so I am not gonna shed any tears over it. Save your sympathy for political prisoners, not knife-wielding gang-bangers.

I never said their arrest was justified, now did I? I just pointed out that they weren't arrested for merely being Iranian-Americans, they had political connections.
