Just a heads-up, the K-Mart where I work is selling variety packs of smoke bombs for $2-4. It's not the best quality stuff but it's cheap and some of them are pretty good size. Not sure if they'll be doing this at all K-Marts but it's worth checking out, stock up now for qualifying.

Thanks for the heads up, but alas, i dont think they are allowed to sell them in Virginia. Some rural gas stations you can get sparklers.

I didn't think you could buy them in PA either (in fact this was the first time I can remember seeing any kind of pyro sold in a store here), so it might be worth a shot. If not, try DC and Maryland ;)

Actually they are legal if you have a permit. You can buy them to do 4th of July shows but small fireworks are still illegal without a permit. It's just no one cares.

Dude, of course they're sold, I'm talking legally here :)

I'm going to pick up a bunch of smoke bombs when I'm at work on Friday. Found out that the small stuff (smoke bombs, sparklers, morning glorys, etc) is legal in PA but you can't buy the big stuff unless you have a permit. Ah well, I wasn't going to bring a Roman candle into Gillette Stadium anyway.

Just a thought I've had...

The rules here in the states are pretty hardcore about brining fireworks into a stadium. They blame it all on terrorism( I know, the terrorists have won! ;) )

Anyways, I figured it might be more probable to use the flares in Europe. So I was wondering if any of our boys going to the Confed.Cup matches were planning on trying it. Some red flares would look great in the supporters section.

Flares are banned in Europe too. I don't know where you're going but it's not like you can walk in with them just like that.

Maybe the control isn't as strict at something like a Confed Cup though. I dunno.

What does any of this have to do with footy?

I haven't been to a K-Mart in two years. All reports are false! :D

Surely everyone is stocking up on smoke bombs for their street celebrations if we upset Brazil?:) Oh, maybe that's just my crew? Oh well, no one ever accused us of being normal;)

Guys, if your local K-Mart is selling this stuff, STOCK UP. I bought yesterday, you have NO IDEA how much stuff I got for $20--around 20 red and blue smoke bombs of various sizes (most about 3-4 inches tall, but including a couple huge ones), something called a "Smoke Cone" which is white and about 10 inches high, another smoke bomb about the size of a full-size Pringles can, and 2 boxes of those little smoke balls, not to mention assloads of other stuff which I can play with on the 4th.

In case they have the same stuff other places, I got the "Phantom Returns" assortment pack which had most of the huge stuff in it and cost $15, and 5 "Spark Plug Smoke 2 for 1 Bonus Paks (sic)", each of which has 4 smoke bombs about 3 inches high each (red, blue, yellow, and green). I'm planning to use a lot of it on the 4th and I still should hvae enough to get thru qualification (if not, I can replenish my stock next year).

The US is undefeated when our fans have lit noticeable smoke bombs and kept them in the stands.

I know we've discussed this before, that it's not really a great idea to bring smoke bombs to Crew Stadium, but i know a couple of you are gonna be at the Paraguay match on 7/6...is anyone even contemplating bringing them? Or are we just saving 'em for the qualifiers and maybe the Gold Cup?

Alright, now I'm off to start my seperate thread about streamer-throwing at the Paraguay friendly, check it out...
