Wonder if Feilhaber is going to get more chances with the first team this season? I keep hearing the kid has promise, but he hasn't featured a whole lot just yet.

With Huub Stevens there, I doubt it. :o

Shame. Kid has loads of promise and has played very well in my book for the USMNT this past Gold Cup. Watching his strike in person yesterday was 'electric'!!!

I hope he gets some shots at cracking the top XI at HSV.

One strike does not make a player. He came on for the Canada game and as Ives Galarcep puts it "He sent his first touch into the row Z....". Also, he needs to make sure he doesn't turn into the Bundesliga Gooch. How many yellow cards did he pick up this last season?

according to transfermarkt: 10. and some of them were just because of arguments he had with the referees, I believe.

the site has changed till google indexed it, but not only GoogleCache and Waybackmachine Bookmarklets can do great things:

I think loaning Feilhaber to a team (maybe Hertha :D ) would be a good idea.

I have only seen Feilhaber play during some matches with the USNT.

Has a really good touch and appears to know how to handle the ball well. He's a player to watch.

But I wonder how much playing time he has with HSV?
I believe he has enough to battle for a starting position.

There are some rumors now of Liverpool going after Kompany. Hopefully they can hang onto him.

What? Rafa Benitez go after a non-Spanish based player? NO WAY!!

HSV won't sell anyhow. Stevens has plans for Kompany.....

I hope Stevens wouldn't sell Kompany before he ever just gets a chance to really play for HSV. Looking forward to seeing him in action this year.

And I believe you will. I don't think Kompany is going anywhere.

Interested to see if Zidan can help solve HSV's scoring woes. Even healthy, van der Vaart can't do it all himself.

What's more interesting for me is how well Stevens and Zidan will work together. How long will it take before Zidan cries himself a sleep? Oh well, he can always call Klopp and ask for a hug.

Anyone else see that HSV drew 1-1 with Basitkas - a Champions League team? I know, it's not top-class Bundesliga, but it is definitely a decent gauge as to where they stand against quality opponents.

I'm really hoping for a better start to the season than last. I think Dolly was a victim of unfortunate circumstances. I didn't hear anything about locker-room discontent - but he was burdened with tons of injuries. It's no surprise that once Huub came on board and the boys were coming back from injuries that their second half turned out to be what both halves should've been. I think the sacking was a bit harsh, but I'm glad to see Huub guiding the team in the right direction so far.

I watched that match. Both sides were largely sloppy. I wouldn't make any predictions based on that match.

Except that Beskitas won't be in the CL as long as you guys were last season.....

Never thought I'd say this, but we're glad to have Doll. Thanks.

According to today's addition of the Hamburger Morgenpost, HSV are interested in Sweden's Wilhelmsson (RSC Anderlecht). They are going to have to compete with Bolton, though I think.

Wilhelmsson plays for Nantes now. He should be available for around 3 mio? I think.

Seems like Bolton is likely to be beat Hamburg to him, though.

HSV have been given permission to speak to Feyenoord's Romeo Castelen.

Surprisingly he has the same agent as Mathijsen, de Jong and Boulahrouz. ;)
