I think it's better for the player. He'll definely get more Spielpraxis.

Has anybody heard anything about this?

I'm hoping its not true, as I'm coming to germany in a few months in hopes of seeing Zidan and VdV. But now there's possiblity that neither will be there! :(

I really wish Zidan would get more opportunities to play with HSV. He's a deadly goal scorer and I think he's becoming a better and better passer as well. Anybody know why he doesn't get a shot? I think he's way better than Castelan or Chuopo-moteng but they both played over him last game.

The Goal.com article is the only place I've seen the rumor. I've seen Zidan play a bit this season and he seems to be pretty regular in the striker rotation - he plays about as often as Guerrero. He hasn't exactly been on fire but I don't know that he's struggled that bad either (again, only from what I've seen). Hopefully he stays and settles into the side as they need most consistent goal-scoring up front.

Nice to see Hamburg land Chrisantus, especially given the interest in him from other clubs. Bringing in quality youngsters is no certain path to success, but it can work very well if done right.

Apparently Huub Stevens has said he's not interesting the PSV job... right now. Maybe in the summer, but not at the moment.

I doubt that there is any truth to that rumour.
Hamburg can't afford to lose a forward, it's not like they have one who is setting the world on fire right now. Every one of them had their good and their bad games, not to mention their fair share of health issues.

Even if that weren't the case, you don't give up on your biggest signing of the summer after just a handful of games.

Zidan would gain absolutely nothing by going to such a league, nor do I think that he even wants to.

Most important of all, Huub Stevens plans with him and has no interest in letting him go.

Yup, I can confirm this. Never mind, he did a good job in Hamburg and also confirmed his departue in good time. As long as Doll doesn't take control again everthing will be fine. :D

Maybe give a good second league coach the chance to take over.

I hope that the Fürth boy (he's born here) Didi Baiersdorfer won't even think about Bruno Labbadia...

I think they'll go for Thomas von Heesen......

So long as Stevens stays good to his word and stays the rest of the season, thats more than enough notice. Much more than most clubs get. It gives HSV plenty of time to find a new manager.

This summer could be a bit of a changeover for the club. A new manager most likely, and it seems very very likely that van der Vaart will be gone as well.

Yeah, those rumours have been going on for about a month now - now it's all confirmed. Classy of Stevens to say so ahead of time imo, and at their present rate, he could be leaving HSV on a very high note.

I watched the England Germany game yesterday. Olic put on a great performance:

...kicking england out of the Euro 2008. Wasn't the best goal in the game. But still a fantastic move.

Agree. Very classy of Stevens and HSV's handling of the entire situation has been more than very classy.

And another win for Hamburg. Keeping the pressure on Bayern. Looks like the situation with Stevens isn't affecting anything on the pitch at this point.

If anything, the Stevens situation should spur them on to do better for him.

Disappointing loss to Bremen. Another goal from van der Vaart, though.
