Obviously :p
Where did I say they will get more then 22 Mio next year?
I didn't say you said anything. That was MY estimation. I am entitled to give my opinion and not just respond to yours, aren't I?
I say they will get more then 14 Mio and since Valencia won't bid more for various reasons HSV must wait for next season. After today's vdV pictures it should be clear to anybody how Valencia wants to work out this situation. Valencia will in no case raise their initial offer, they set all their hopes and money in vdV breaking himself out of his contract via his behaviour.
I don't think Valencia had him pose with the shirt. I think van der Vaart is trying to provoke HSV into a sale on his own there. Valencia won't stop him.
to sum up my position:
The HSV has the duty for its own sake not to cave in and try to get the maximum out of him next year.
HSV's "duty" is to do what is best for the entire TEAM in the long run. We just disagree on what that is.....
First, because the club is bigger than any player,
EXACTLY!! The club is bigger than any player! Then why do some of you act like the club can't go on without van der Vaart?!
Would it be better for HSV if he WANTED to stay?! SURE! But FORCING him to stay is just going to make him a cancer within the team!
Watch man! Keeping him can be a lot more dangerous than selling him!
therefore a player has not to expect "reward" (i.e in getting sold) in not honoring the club's circumstances (season already started with vdV being an integral part of their team) and the paper he has signed and he showed his commitment with (plus a clear exit clause next year).
The paper he signed showed he was willing at the time, to make sure HSV gets a good price for him when he leaves. Just as I said in my last response to "LebenslangGruenWeiss."
And that exit clause is going to hurt them next season more than you think....
Second, HSV negotiation position is fully undermined at the moment due to vdV behaviour and his stance of going only to Valencia. No time and no potential white knight as HSV savior, therefore HSV needs to block this dictated strategy for a better situation next year.
Block that strategy at what cost? I guess you just will not believe that keeping vdV could be more harmful than selling him.
Third, benching or putting vdV for the whole season on the stand will prevent team morale drops and is lowering injury risks and therefore mimimizing price risks. As a consequence vdV will go anywhere just for leaving HSV and saving his career and image
I see what you are thinking. I really do. But dude, do you really think it's that simple? My argument is that team morale will drop with him simply being there! A player who could help them forced to sit in the stands because he doesn't want to be there?!
How do you think they are going to feel with a team captain forced to be there against his will? How is that going to help this team?
Forth, Ajax will still get some amount of the transfer fee from Hamburg, which puts even more emphasize on reason 1, 2 and 3.
So what? What is that against the morale of this team this season?
The only thing that should eb able to break this strategy is a significantly raised offer by Valencia, a second offer in the range of 18-20 Mio
I think they will go 16-18 if HSV just stops bitching and moaning and just negotiates with them. I think that will stop all the drama from van der Vaart.
I think the best thing HSV can do is negotiate with Valencia instead of fighting them. If they don't sell, THEN they can go back to vdV and say, "We tried, they just would not pay what you were worth."
Then if vdV still "tanks" the season, he is even more of an asshole, because HSV tried to accomodate him.
Right now, I think vdV is 'rebelling' because HSV won't even talk to Valencia.
But we can go on and on about this.......
