I don't have much expierence watching soccer on Spanish Language television so I have a few questions.
I only get Telefutura, Univision and Telemundo, but most of the US games are on Galavision. Will Univision or Telemundo show the US games?
If they don't where are places that will be showing the games?
If anybody can help me, thanks a bunch.
Summers will have the Confederations Cup games.

Also, I modified the title of this thread to keep it more on topic for this board.

i can't believe summers is charging 10 to see the confederations cup when these games will be available for free on telefutura, galavision and univision.

Actually at Lucky Bar, it's a $10 minimum, which means you can watch the games as long as you eat or drink.

This is the fine print on the Summers website
= With the purchase of $15 or more, the cover charge for Confederations Cup games will be credited towards your check.
So basically don't plan on sitting there and nursing a Coke for 2 hrs.

Last time I watched a game there (US-Mex) it was supposedly a $10 minimum, but they didnt' enforce it (on me at least). I think as long as it's a busy night and people are generally eating and drinking, they don't check up on how much people spend.

All this and we don't even get an English broadcast of the match?

Every time that I've frequented Summers or the Lucky Bar or Capitol Lounge I've dropped a minimum of $20 on myself as a matter of principle. On most ocassions I spend closer to $30 plus a handsome 30 % tip. This minimum charge stuff makes me think twice about giving them my business.

How anyone can avoid spending $10 at a bar is beyond me. You must be either a teatotal or cheapskate, neither or which rate in my book.

It's clearly not directed at you. I usually spend about $20 myself, plus a decent tip. $10 isn't too much to ask to spend for two hours at someone's establishment. In addition, I've never actually seen it enforced at Summer's.
P.S. The mimimum requirement has been listed on Summer's website for at least 2 years.

so when Summer's has $10 down for each game...is that really $10 for EACH game...or more like $10 for the evening (i.e., 2 matches)?

quit your crying about 10 bucks!
That's just a way to wave off all the cheapscapes that show up and take up space.
Word out is that the Turkey supporters will show up in numbers for the US-Thanksgiving nation next thursday.
We gotta get early and take up the place!

If you go and order dinner and a drink you can sit there all night. It's really to weed out the water sippers.

OK, so I've decided I need to be there next Thursday and Saturday. Screw the Thanksgiving Food supporters, I know damn well that we'll overwhelm that bar.

Any chance that Grevey's in Falls Church might show the confed cup?

I'm not sure, but I met a real nice young lady Terri that works there and she said they were really impressed by the turnout the other night. She told me that she had spoken with the general manager and thought they should buy the Shootout package.
A new soccer bar might have been born that night. :)
