3 games later, 3 losses after allways going up 1-0 with an early goal... the season is basically over! Too bad, we really had a chance there to reach an international spot, but its all good. We arrived in Bundesliga Midfield this season, and seeing the team, and how much potential is still there, I think chances are good that we will stay there for a couple of years or even move farther up...
A victory against Dortmund would be good tough to ensure we dont slip out of the one-digit yone by the end of the season!

And on a personal note: Im finally back home and will be back in the stadium on friday! woohoo! :)

Welcome back! And I hope you guys kick the crap out of us on Friday to help get our f#cking idiot coach fired!

I'm hoping they kick the crap out of BVB on Friday as well, and for the same reason.

I hope you enjoyed your first home match of the season, Doc! ;)

Was there really a protest from the UF?

Awesome season. There's been no posting on the board for a month. That's good news. We did collapse in the second half of the second round.

Doc, you are honored to start the official 08/09 thread. Any opinions, rumors etc about transfers? What's up with Caio?

I love the new jersey btw.

nono, im still there :D
just wasnt too much to say about Eintracht lately... ;)

The 4-2 home victory against Duisburg put a good end to a good season. (the best since 13 years)
We did another step forward in the laegue. We never came close to relegation and I believe we can now definitely say we arrived in midtable. (alltough nürnberg just proved how easy it is to slip out of there again...) Even tough many Frankfurtfans allready dreamed of more again, THIS is exactly what we wanted, and exactly were we belong right now.
Finally some money can also be spend on the base again. Good old Riederwald will be completely renewed, starting this summer, which was more then neccesary since years. The U23 team qualified for the new Regionalliga and will be playing in FSVs Bornheimer Hang for now.
As of now theres not much more to say. Its a good feeling, to have been leaning back and relaying for the last weeks allready... (alltough the team could have arguably done a bit less of all that in the games agaisnt VFB, BVB and VFL)

Ill go ahead and open the thread for the new season once theres some news or transfers...
So far Alexander Krük, a 21 year old leftback from Kickers Emden has been signed as well as Markus Steinhöfer, a 22 year old defender who will join us from Red Bull Salzburg.
Weissenberger and Chaftar are definitely leaving us and Kyrgiakos seems like he is on the jump as well. Mantzios was only "borrowed" (whats the english term? It sounds wierd) and will probably go back to Greece.

Oh and one more thing:
"Auf dem Main da schwimmt ein Fussball, und der Fussball schwimmt ins Meer,
und der Fussball der geht unter und die Kickers hinterher..." Muahaha :D

C'mon Doc, don't be so mean to your neighbours! ;)

I feel really sorry for OFC. :(

Btw: Congrats on a very solid season! Great job from Friedhelm!

Really?! I cant say I do :)
3rd League is exactly where they belong...
Especially with FSV probably even being a league above them next season to rub it in!

Die Nummer 4 am Main seit ihr... :D

Galindo played a very solid season. Nothing spectacular, but thats not what we got him for anyway. Great defender! I personally really like him.

Not much new... But today 9 years ago was one of the best days of my life:

Never before and never again have I seen anything like it. The excitemend before the game, the sheer amount of emotional Ups and Downs within one game. And the celebration after the 5-1... Unforgtettable moments! Ill never forget the feeling, standing in the middle of that field among 10000s of laughing and screeming Fans...and realizing we actually made it after all!
Football doesnt get much better! Thank you Fussballgott for letting this happen! :)

Actually this radio-conference is even much better http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=NWqMUDXdrUs

"Westerthaler, nur Sforza hat er noch vor sich... dann ist es Fjörtoft, der ist im Strafraum... und er trifft! Tooooooooor! Toooooor für die Frankfurter Eintracht! 5-1 Herrje! Welch Leistung!!"

Chris signed a new contract until 2012.
Another potential key-player (when he is fit) thats safe for the next few years!

Wolfsburg wanted him last week and kicker.de allready announced a transfer. Im glad we could keep him! As I said, I think he is one of our key players. If he manages to stay healthy.

Chris (and Fink) in defensive midfield and Galindo and Russ behind them! Sounds good to me!

Ümit Korkmaz joines Eintracht until 2012.

22 year old Austrian Nationalplayer and left midfielder. I hadnt heard anything about him but according to some Rapid Fans he was a key factor in their championship-run last season. I guess I get too see him during the Euro, where he is the 6th Eintrachtplayer (still counting Sotos, who wants to transfer tough)
According to Rapid the transferfee is around 4 million, but that seems a bit much for me. Nothing official from Eintrachts side yet...

Welcome to Frankfurt!

That doesnt look to bad:
Fenin 21
Korkmaz 22
Heller 22
Caio 22
Russ 22
Ochs 24
Meier 25

Neither was I. But I was mad at the team and especially Frank Baumann, not mad at the world as most FCN fans were.......

Rausch told them what they had to do and they ignored him.

They never expected Eintracht to get the job done that day.

And I still thank Eintracht for that day. I may have been angry at FCN, but that Eintracht win got BVB past Kaiserslautern and into the Champions' League! I can still remember the happy look on Michael Skibbe's face when they heard the score from Frankfurt! ;) :D
