Huggel leaves Frankfurt

Too bad he never quite had his break through, good guy tough! I got to meet him on a Fan-Conference in my favorite Pub in Sachsenhausen once. That whole ugly story with that Turkey-game set him off track quite a bit I think.
I hope he can make it back to Form in Basel and play at the Euro 08!

HUGGEL, HUGGEL, HUGGEL HAU SIE UM! :D *sing*

So according to Streits Manager Gerster (who is btw commonly known as "der schwarze abt" in Frankfurt) and Eintracht Manager Bruchhagen, Streit will definitely stay here for next season.

I'm curious how the fans will react on him...

Yeah, might not be pretty... Jones knows all about that (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZjjzyLqoPdg)...
I for my part certainly wont be cheering at him, but I definitely wont whistle or cuss at him either. Not as long as he plays for us...

Ok, so heres our guide for next season:

1. SGE - Hertha
2. Bielefeld - SGE
3. SGE - Rostock
4. Bremen - SGE
5. SGE - Hamburg
6. Bochum - Sge
7. SGE - Karlsruhe
8. Cottbus - SGE
9. SGE - Leverkusen
10. Nürnberg - SGE
11. SGE - Hannover
12. Bayern - SGE
13. Dortmund - SGE
14. SGE - Stuttgart
15. Wolfsburg - SGE
16. SGE - Schalke
17. Duisburg - SGE

What can I say. Seems allright to me. The 34th matchday is a homegame. We allways seem to be lucky on that one and I like that :) Plus its against Duisburg, so should we still need points for anything, it should be fairly possible to get them there.

3 games are during the week. All of them are Homegames, against Karlsruhe, Bayern and Wolfsburg. Thats definitely a good thing, alltough I wonder how many Wolfsburgfans we can expect on a tuesday night... Lets see it was 72 of them on a saturday....

Anyways! Im exited! Hope we get a good draw in the dfb-pokal on saturday.... Wormatia Worms would be awesome! :)

Our draw for the first round in the DFB Pokal is Union Berlin. We will play there the first August-weekend, so right before the seaon starts.
Its an allright draw, not exactly what I was hoping tough. I was hoping for either Darmstadt 98, Wormatia Worms or SV Wehen.
Should be an entertaining game tough, in a cool stadium with two great sets of fans and an underdog that will surely be up for it against a "big-gun" who will definitely take this seriously. If our players learned one thing within the last two years then that should be that the DFB Pokal is the shortest and easiest route to glory...

Btw, finally someone put a video of the seasonfinal of 2003 on youtube!
It starts at 88:30 Minutes and 4-3 and shows the last 2 goals which brought us back to the Bundesliga...

Probably one of the craziest games in footbal-history.
I was right behind the goal and Schurs header came straight at me... Unbelievable

Not much new in Bembeltown... But I thought Id do a little update anyways.

Eintracht lost 2-0 to Wehen yesterday. Pretty lame game, I was actually there, alltough I swore myself not to visit anymore testgames at some point, which I should have sticked with...

Taka is doing great at the Asian Cup as far as I know. He scored 3 goals allready... hope he will keep up that good form!

Next weekend is the inofficial Goodbye-Game of Eintracht-legends Uwe Bindewald and Alex Schur... that should be rathr entertaining, there are apparently a bunch of foprmer players to come, including the likes of Maurizio Gaudino...

Wir brauchen keinen Beckham,
wir brauche kein Zidane!
Wir wolln nur unsern Zico!
Den Zico Bindwald!
Sing U-we Bindewald sing Uwe Bindwald! :D

thanks Doc,

Keep them coming! How did you like Inamoto? The new jersey? :p

Doc_Aeppler

I like Inamoto, alltough I gotta admitt I know almost nothing about him...
The one thing I know is that I once played a game of EA`s Football Manager 03 and I actually had Inamoto in my Eintracht Team that was later to become Champions League winner...
Ok, I also had Ronaldinho (who was still at PSG and raather easy to get back then)... :p

I hope he finds back to his old strength and helps us to bring an end to the lack of creativity that our midfield was suffering of last year...

The new jersey is allright, nothing special. I think there were some far better designs made by Fans in the official Eintracht board...
Im not gonna buy it, but I can definitely live with it.

Not much new in the worlds smallest Metropolis...
Just that about every other player seems to be injured right now and we have about 2 defenders left (that being Russ and Chaftar)
I hope that things come back to normal until the Cupgame at Union.... Otherwise it may look grim for our goal of going to the semifinal a 3rd time in a row (not even to talk about the league)
Im expecting us to sign another defender actually, as Chris' body proves more and more to be unreliable... He goes from one injurie straight to the next...

The 2 Eintracht-legends Uwe Bindewald and Alex Schur had their Goodbye-game today.
http://rhein-main.net/sixcms_upload/media/97/bindewald01.jpg http://www.rhein-main.net/sixcms_upload/media/97/schur01.jpg
Uwe played for us from 1987 to 2004, Alex from 1996 to 2006. Both were extremely popular among the Fans for being loyal towards the club and the city and always coming up to the Fans and showing them a certain kind of appreciation... Unfortunately there arent too many of this kind left nowadays.
Alex added to his legend-status by scoring the crucial 6-3 against Reutlingen in 2003.
It was a great event with plenty of former Eagles in the stadium and on the field, such as Jürgen Grabowski, Karl-heinz "Charly" Körbel, Ralf Weber, Uwe Bein, Dragoslav "Steppi" Stepanovic, apparently also Tony Yeboah (alltough I personally didnt see him) and many more...

Im ready for the new season!

That was fast!
Eintracht signs Mexican defender Aaron Galindo from Grasshoppers Zürich.
I have no clue about this guy. But apparently he has plaied in the mexican Nationalteam before, so he cant be all bad...
I like this transfer! Now we have players from 2 of my favorite countries, that being Japan and Mexico! We only need an Irish and an American now... :D

Galindo is a very good defender... he showed it at the confederations cup 2005 in Germany... He was suppose to be the "New Rafa Marquez" unfortanely for him the doping scandal had him struggle... and kept him without playing for a year therefore he missed the World Cup.... he was a key player though... He than went to Spain to play for Herculez where he didn't get much of a chance to play, actually he didn't get to play at all  ... he than went to Grasshoppers in switzerland where apparently he did good, they don't show any swiss football in USA/MEXICO therefore none of us saw him play... but reading from our fellow forum posters he was key in the team, they could not keep him because he was too expensive... and it was said Eintracht owned him already they had just loaned him out for a season to Grasshoppers...

thanks for the info!
That sounds good! I hope he can help us out. The defense has kinda been a weak spot last season...
I hear he is a defender that can also handle the ball and not only destroy the other teams game... Thats really good! Last year we had with Kyrgiakos and Vasoski mainly two of the second kind. They are both good defenders, but the ball isnt exactly their friend....
I doubt that Eintracht owned him before tough... Firstly, I suppose it would have then been official before we started practice and secondly, Im pretty sure we wouldnt have bought another defender if it wasnt for Chris, Ochs, Kyrgiakos, Preuss and Vasoski being injured...

Pretty good start into the new season. After an easy 4-1 at Union Berlin in the Cup, Eintracht beat Hertha Berlin 1-0 yesterday. The victory was well deserved and could have been higher if Streit and Meier had taken their huge chances in 2nd half. Newcomers Mahdavikia and Inamoto seemed to find their part in the team quickly and both played a good game. Inamoto was subbed out for more defensive Preuss tough.

With the next two game being in Bielefeld and against Rostock, we could be able to get a great start into the season! 7 Points out of the first 3 games seem pretty possible, but we will see.
