Looks smooth to me.

You get the economic benefits from hotels in Dallas and the guys in Arlington pick up the stadium tab and the dubious economic benefits.

Fixed to expand upon accurate thinking. It's absolutely true. Ain't no one gonna spend the week in freakin' Arlington.

You could argue that she is having "it all". In terms of her cake and eating it too. She's not spending a nickle yet she'll get the bulk of the revenue.

She could have had 8 weeks a year not counting potential play offs, and would have improved the mess that is Fair Park, but she said no... a ********ing brdige like in Seville, Spain is what Dallas needs. She's a freakin imbecile.
Good try.

man i am usin all my rep on you man imagine the glorious return of the cowboys to actual DALLAS, downtown and fair park, our entire city revitalized
now imagine adding more juice to the ever present fire of suburban sprawl, destroying our countryside and abandoning our beautiful cities to lie in deserted concrete wastelands
theres not a lot of issues that i care about but this is one of them
she has singlehandedly destroyed the cotton bowl and downtown dallas during her reign of terror
the worst mayor in the history of the city
any real sports fan would know how terrible she is
if the world were her way, we wouldnt even have a soccer team, much less football, baseball, basketball, hockey or any other sport you care to mention
the good lord shall grace us with her departure
hallelujah

Now the real question .... should/could PHP try to become one of the practice facilities?

PHP in February with no roof would be a hard sell and besides that hard on the turf itself. Did you see the lacrosse marks on Sunday? Thefield looked dried out and hard.

It looked great compared to HDC. It looked like a sandlot on the sides.

I think the SB in Arlington will get panned by the national media because it is in Arlington and we'll have a tough time of getting into the rotation. If it were in Dallas I think the great accessability of the game/events to restaurants and hotel would make it a slam dunk great event. So, yes she is riding the coattails but by doing so it won't happen as frequently as it should.

And in the end, Dallas Mayors bleat forever about attracting tourists, but balk at spending the money to make the place a desirable place to visit.

As much as I cant stand Skelator(Jerry), he has done a great job developing this stadium. People just dont understand how great this facility will be. If the US receives a WC Bid in 2018(I actually think 2014 is more likely), Dallas will be one of the host cities because of this stadium. Not only will Jerrys world receive first round matches but I suspect some later matches as well.

No reason to let a billionaire profit off of tax money as I've explained in the Inferno board. Good job Laura.

just what I was thinking. there are arguments for why Dallas ought to have bid for all these things, but this is the perfect example of why it was smart for them not to.

I'm all in on the sentiment here but...In all fairness I believe the deal presented to the mayor and A select few was substansially different than what was sold to Arlington..To the tune of several hundred Million dollars (tax dollars)different contributions..If I remember right...

oh, you hate Jones turning the cowboys from a dreadful franchise in the late 80's, to one of the most influential teams ever?
revolutionized marketing for the sport, and has never thought of making a buck in place of the team.
jones is all about winning dude.

and ya, he also got jerryworld done to give the cowboys a world class stadium.

That dreadful franchise of the 80s had about 3 bad years. Our current Jerry run Cowboys have gone a decade without a post-season victory. All Jerry has done is leverage off what Tex Schramm built.
