i thought the latest news was that Eto had cleared up rumors, that he wants to stay instead
Eto'o is saying that shit for the same reason Klose did. To try to keep peace at the club during the title run-in.
Remember, the Spanish season isn't over.
Lots of things are going to happen when the Spanish season is over.

Hmm....very interesting what you say there footyfan! I dearly hope Klose joins Barca or some other foreign club.
With Toni joining Bayern now I don't think they are willing to buy Klose as well. They got Makaay, Podolski and Toni now and it would be stupid to buy yet another striker. They should focus on playmakers etc since neither Robben nor Quaresma nor van der Vaart are willing to join Bayern.
I wouldn't mind Klose leaving for Bayern if someone from Bayern came to Bremen in return. Schweinsteiger seems to be unhappy at Bayern and they just bought Janssen. Lahm and Schweinsteiger play on the left and Janssen would either have to replace one of them or sit on the bench the whole time. I hope Allofs demands something like this from Bayern. Not sure if Bayern will let someone like Schweinsteiger go but who knows...:)

so that schweinsteiger can sit on the bench when borowski plays? :D

Hehe, I'm sure Schaaf will find a solution. Frings defensive midfield, Carlos Alberto/Borowski (injury-prone) on the right, Schweini left since he likes to shoot from that side and Diego attacking midfield.
No space for captain Baumann then but oh well... ;)

has this carlos alberto signed already?
a place like bremen away from the media spotlight that only bayern has might be good for schweinsteiger actually

You can rotate players you know. And Lahm and Schweinsteiger don't exactly set the world on fire on the left.

Schweinsteiger is actually more talented than Podolski for example, talking german talent.
I don't like either of them as far as their personality on the pitch, but Schweinsteiger is in my opinion more skilled than people think, he went from overrated(WC hype) to underrated in just one season.

I agree that Schweinsteiger is more talented than some people think, but I don't think he's underrated.
He does some things better than anyone in Germany.
But, he should be even better next season. Many people don't realize he was actually sick for a lot of this season.
I can talk shit about him at times, but I'd love him at my club and I think he'd earn a starting spot at Werder too.

Yeah, we know he's skilled, but he has to keep his performances on an even keel. On a high level at an even keel.
Footyfan is right about the injuries. Playing with them a whole season can lower the performances. Footyfan, look at Tim Duncan from last year and Tim Duncan from this year.
So hopefully Schweisteiger can become consistent.
I don't think I'd start him over borowski though, at any position. Not yet anyway.

i'd definately start him over Borowski, if schweini just has to play more consistent...Like Keith said he was quite sick for most of this season...Hopefully he gets the hell out of Bayern because his talent is really wasted on the bench...I think that we all know that when Schweini is on his game - he'll have a bigger impact than most players on the German side.

Schweinsteiger won´t leave Bayern this summer
and especially not to Bremen.
He´a good player, but i would prefer Borowski
every day of the week. Many people totally underrate an in-form
Borowski, which he sadly wasn´t last season, because of injuries. :(
---
About Carlos Alberto there are currently no news.
Werder plans to give the squad more depth
based on the experiences especially
from the second part of last season.
It will be interesting to see, how this will be realized.
With Rosenberg and Niemeyer now allowed to play in UEFA competitions
(weren´t allowed to play, because Ajax and Twente played UEFA-cup)
there are already new options for Schaaf.

Has anyone heard anything about Bremen renovating their stadium? I heard something about plans to expand the Weser Stadion to 50.000 seats a few months ago, but I can't find anything official

Yup, I would prefer to see Borowski starting for Germany instead of Schweinsteiger.
His penalty against Argentina and performance against Argentina and Italy proved it for me.
They both have talent but Borowski is better suited to display it at the highest level for Germany right now.

It´s planned to begin the renovation this winter and finish it in winter 2008.
Capacity about 50000, 17000 - 20000 m^2 solar cells on the roof.

Had they done this a couple years ago they might have gotten a bid to host a game over hannover for the 2006 WC...

Had they done this a couple years ago they might have gotten a bid to host a game over hannover for the 2006 WC...
At the application to host WC matches there
were published plans to modernized the stadium.
Reasons, why Bremen didn´t get WC matches were
the bad transport connections compared to Hannover and
political decisions.
But that´s another story.
