After Portuguese newspaper reported about a new contract
for Hugo Almeida already last week,
Werder confirmed the extension until 2011 today.
Fantastic! I really hated this guy's play in the first half of the season, but the second half has sadly left me more excited about seeing Hugo & Rosenberg up front in 2007/8 than Klose.

i think we are all set for strikers.....plus Viduka is older so it wouldnt be wise to grab him unless the deal was only for a year or something...
Now Huntelaar is a WHOOOLE different story, im SURE we could find some room for him on the squad.....:)

Viduka is 31 ;)Too old anyway. Werder could aswell sign Ailton. But, hey, wait... I'd appreciate that! :D

when is Klasnic supposed to come back again?

kicker article (http://www.kicker.de/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/365960/)
We are not champion, but we are champion in the category joker goals with 17 scored goals. :D
So TS had a good hand with substitutions, most sucessfull jokers were:
Almeida (5 goals after he came in), Rosenberg (4), Vranjes (3)
@Klasnic:
The operation was a complecated case and it is hard to predict,
when he comes back and if he can show the performances he showed
in the past.
I wish him all well and hope, that in Juli there he will be recovered so far,
that he can participate in the season preparation and can help Werder next season.

What's the deal with Andreasen wanting to stay with Mainz? He'd rather play in the 2. Liga than sit on Werder's bench??

Are we in the Kindergarten or something?
Andreassen won´t have a starting spot garantee here,
but he gets as every other a fair chance to get into the team
and "it is also a chance for him to proove himself" (KA).

No, we're not in f#cking kindergarten. I just thought a player liike Andreasen would want to fight for a position at Werder rather than play in the 2. Liga.
It f#cking surprised me that's all. Was my question really so bad as to provke an a$$hole response like that?

Andreasen said he just couldn't handle the situation to be a benchwarmer all the time. He also had problems with his girlfriend and so suffered some kind of depression which Klopp and the rest in Mainz helped him him to overcome.
Maybe Bremen should loan their players to Cottbus next time.

I guess that was directed at Andreasen and not you.

I expect it from him, too.
With Kindergarten i meant Andreassens behaviour.
I am also very surprised by it and can´t understand he goes the way via press.
Sorry, if you got it wrong.

What do you guys think is the reason for Werder not letting Klose go? I think it's due to the fact that Werder don't wanna let him go before they got a replacement for him, just like Diego and Micoud a year ago.
Everything else doesn't really make sense to me to be honest. Werder already proved that they can keep star players by extending the contracts with Naldo and Frings so they could let Klose go. Or maybe they want to swap players with Bayern?

klose said himself that he will stay for the rest of his contract. He probably realised that he wouldn't be a star like he is werder if he goes to another country, so he plans to go to bayern when his contract is over.

Klose only said that shit to try to end all the speculation. If the right foreign club comes with an offer they will accept, Klose will go.
And I think that club will be FC Barcelona.......

Don´t mind. I should have written "Andreassen, do you think we are in the Kindergarten?" ;)
So this time i do it better.

The Klose case is also Kinderg..., ok, we had this before.
Yes, i think the same, if a good offer is made and a follower found,
he will move.

Since you've said this so many times, I'll ask :
do you really think barcelona are going to make a bid for him?

Apparently they did monitor his situation and at some point approach him.Barcelona would pay the transfer fee, but denied to pay him the salary he asks for, so the talks of the transfer disappeared.
Hoeness said Klose has given them a sign of intent that he would like to join Bayern, either now, or after he's free.Werder should sell him. They got a reasonably good scouting network and replaced everybody they sold in the past few years, no matter how important he looked like at that time.
