That is easy to explain. He was trying to make something out of nothing. He was trying anything he could to get Bremen an advantage including cheating. Hell, that is the kind of desire I want from my players. Yeah, he did something very stupid with bad consequences, but he did it for the right reason in my opinion.

Still, doing it when you already have a yellow card is pretty stupid in my opinion. But I understand why he did it.

You guys had better kick some Hertha ass today!!!

you guys better kick some Miners ass when it's time!! :D

It looks like any absolutely nasty, yet very Simunic-worthy challenge (if you could even call it a challenge). I hope Schulz will be okay. Just another demonstration of what a hack Simunic is. The only way he plays defense is to foul and do stupid things like this.

All the best to Schulz and Bremen. I hope you win the rest of your games (as long as VfB wins as well! ;) )

Simunic had better see at least seven matches for that. I'm basing that on his disciplinary record and the Lincoln suspension.

But, they really don't have to use the Lincoln suspension as a yardstick. I just hope they smoke Simunic's ass for this.

He's a f#cking disgrace to the game.

Oh thanks, i hadn't read that yet.

Thankfully Schulz is not badly hurt. Just a few tairs around the eye... the eye wasn't hurt much and he has no concussion. He'll be fine.

Inconsistent, yes. "Horrible"? I don't think so.

Just to finish this topic: the "FAZ am Sonntag" called him "grotesquely bad".

Come, on, footyfan. The man was insane on the pitch.
He also gave wrong players cards.

But as LGW said, lets finish the topic ... with this (http://forum.werder.de/viewtopic.php?t=30723). ;)

Whatever man. All I know is the two calls people keep bitching and whining about, he had every right to give......

Like I said, I never said the guy was "excellent" or even "good". I said he was inconsistent.

But he got those Klose calls right......

He just chose not to exercise HIS OPTION to warn the player. And he's not REQUIRED TO......

F#ck it. If you guys want to go on with this s#it, be my guest. I wouldn't be crying about this shit when my team is in a title race.

Plus again, you guys lost that f#cking tie in Barcelona.

Whatever man. I'm getting pumped for my team's derby.

Sorry. You guys go right ahead with your moaning and complaining.......

When the referee is inconsistend and gives one player all the yellows for normal dive and foul (yes the dive wasn't even in the 16m box) and other players make bigger mistakes and get nothing, then that's not fair. Then you could think... hmmm, maybe the ref preferes the other side or got even paid for this game. It was just unfair in comparision to his other decisions. A referee must give the penalties for a foul on a consistent line. If you are in the 90s min have 2 fouls in the next two mins, both are exactly the same in the 16m box, one for your side, and for the other... and the ref gives the penalty for the enemy side, but not for your side. Then the ref decided game. And I am going to say, that this was an equal case. I hope you understand now what I mean

have to add: the ref would have the possibility of two right decisions at this moment. He can give 2 penalties for both sides or none for both. But if he gives one penalty to one side, but not to the other, then the ref made at least one totally wrong decision.
