what a cheap dive by Klose. Imo the red card is well deserved for that alone. If theres one thing I hate in football than its cheap dives...
Totally agree.
To me dives and usportsmanlike conduct are the biggest problems in football, so much worse than some flares in the audience but sadly FIFA/UEFA don't agree.

goal for Espanyol...now they can't go through.
Reinke lost them alteast 1 point against bielefeld, now his mistake has cost them the small chance they had of going through.

Too bad for the team tough, they had such a great start. Gonna be really tough now...I hope they can still make it...
Totally agree.

Agree with both of you. When I saw that gelb/rot, I thought to myself "selber schuld".........
And I can't say that I agree with those who say that first yellow wasn't deserved. Players know that referees have been instructed to book players who jump with their elbows flailing.
The only thing I can say is that both players should have been booked. The Espanyol player should have had a "dark yellow", but with the second Espanyol goal on the night, it just doesn't f#cking matter anymore......
Sorry guys. I won't be here ripping your team. It just wasn't to be.

It wasn't the referee's fault. He just did his job. Not great, but he did his job, whether you agree with him or not.

Klose did two actions in the first minutes, where he saw 2 yellows, ok. But when he (the ref) makes such decisions he sould make equal decisions to any other players on the field and that would cause, that over 90 mins many ppl leave the field!

the team should suspend klose... i don't want to see this joker anymore

wow, i am very upset. I dont think that his dive was deserving of a yelow, but shame on him for doing it anyway. The ref was rediculous either way.
The remaining ten did all they could. They cant help it that Reinke is old enough to be my dad and sucks ass

that's maybe what the ref wanted. The fall of Klose. Or maybe he just wanted to decide the game early, iI don't know.... I saw many other games with much worser dives and the first foul from klose wasn't so bad either, of course, it was a yellow, but there were other equal fouls where there wasn't a yellow, ALSO on the other side!
I really think the ref wanted to decide the game and I don't want to know what's the reason.

for me it's the acting, the simulating of injuries...Grown men screaming/holding their knee for something so little...It's that shit which slows the pace of the game and it's really annoying....especially when you live in a country that doesn't fully appreciate the sport!

Yeah. I'm pretty sure the ref had his hands on the red card since the opening whistle just waiting to eject Klose.
I won't criticize the team because it just wasn't to be, but man, I haven't seen such whining in a long time!
Again, Miro should know that referees are INSTRUCTED to book players who jump with their elbows swinging. You aren't going to tell me Miro didn't jump with the elbows swinging.
And once Miro was booked, he should have known better than to take a chance with diving. And such a blatant, horrible dive at that!
You want to blame someone, blame who f#cking deserves the blame.
MIROSLAV KLOSE!
All this f#cking whining is sickening.

Here, here!! The remaining ten did all they could!
But what does Reinke's age have to do with the fact that he sucks??

Of course, Miroslav Klose deserves all the blame....the ref was excellent.. sure...
I won't repeat my arguments again. Everyone has to make his own opinion

Plus, Juve won't compete in Europe next season AND I honestly don't believe Torsten Frings is one of Klose's favorite people right now. Why would Klose go to Juve if there's a chance Frings would be doing there too on top their not playing in Europe next season??
whats going on between klose and frings?
im disappointed with today's game.. but not so upset because i didnt really expect them to make it through. but i didnt expect them to lose at home, i thought they would have one 3-1 or something...
i'm very upset with klose.

First of all congrats to Espanyol.
Well, the start was good, but to play for more than
70 minutes with one man less against a team with very solid defense
and fit players (played in La Liga with reserve team) isn´t easy.
Many people see them as Spanish average team,
but in cup competitions they show a different face
and fully concentrate on these competitios,
last year cup winner and this year in UEFA 11 wins, 3 draws, 0 loose.
Mmh, i don´t want to speak here about Miro and the horrible ref, only
so much, currently it doesn´t run well for Werder. :(

You can blame the ref on other decisions but Miro was terrible in Spain, and topped it off today. He seems to be somewhere else with his mind lately.
Espanyol is a tough team to beat. The fact that 2 "mid table" spanish teams are in the semi's says a lot about the quality of those mid table teams.
Werder deserved better though, as i was initially supporting Benfica to make it through(where Espanyol got lucky).

Well, Klose should be well rested for Sunday! ;)
After beating Nurnberg, Dortmund, and Aachen, Werder has dropped three in succession - two to Espanyol and one to Bielefeld. Hopefully they can right their ship with three games remaining:
6 May @ Hertha BSC
12 May - Frankfurt
19 May @ Wolfsburg
3 points will ensure a Champions League spot. 9 would be nice to put pressure on Schalke and Stuttgart to win their remaining games.
Both Schalke and Stuttgart have 2 home games.
