Well, actually, it shouldn't be too hard for inter becasue Lisbon's goalie is injured, jao Pinto will miss both games and Jardel will miss at least one of them.

Well ESPN have the rights, although they may need to sublet them for the closed-circuit part.
Keep in mind, this is just what the owner of a soccer place told me he thinks is happening. I do think Setanta was somehow involved.
ESPN doesn't have the rights for the qualifying. Each year, games in qualifying stage are sold by the individual teams to different carriers. That's why RAI, RTPi, FSW, Turkish DFH2 all had shown qualifying games in the past.
In the past, VideoSports also had the rights to show the games over the Internet. Now that VideoSports are dead, look for some other PPV outfit to grab the rights. Setanta is the most logical choice.

Don't you think time is running out? The games start tomorrow.

Well, at least Celtic x Basle will be on Setanta on Wednesday.
http://www.setanta.com/sport/Schedules_Northamerica.htm
but probably no other PPV on the first leg.
However, I suspect RAI is doing something about the first legs of Milan x Liberec and Sporting x Inter.
As of Aug 12, the RAI web-site still hasn't had a program schedule for Aug 14. It very rare. I suspect they are still trying to fit a game in on Wednesday.

Excellent result for Haifa.
It will be very interesting to see how UEFA politics deals with the situation of an Israeli team in the group stages after making them play the qualifiers away from home.

Watched the Sparta-Genk game last night on TV and I must say Genk deserved to win by a few more goals. They had two goals called back in the second half... one because of an offside.
Sparta came out really strong for the first 20 minutes, but fell back once Genk scored in the 32nd minute.
Tonight, the Liberec at AC Milan game is on Czech TV.

CS, where are you staying?
I've been watching RAI's evening news of the floods.

I am staying in Olomouc, which is in Moravia. All of the flooding at this time has happened in Bohemia. Olomouc is on the Moravian river, which flooded a few years ago. It rained all day yesterday, and it is supposed to rain again today. From what I have heard, Olomouc is not supposed to be at risk. Hopefully it stays this way...
It is said to see Prague flooded because of the damage to all the historical buildings. Cesky Krumlov also flooded, and it is a world heritage site. Apparently it is the worst flooding in the CR in a century. In Pisek a 13th century bridge was destroyed. Eight people have died in the CR because of the flooding.
Thanks for asking.

In Prague lots of citizens were setting up sand bags to try and prevent any more damage to the historical buildings you mentioned and the museum. It looked like a massive effort with the army and other agencies getting involved. Not sure if it'll do much though.
Hopefully Olomouc will be safe from the flooding and no one else will be hurt. One of those who died was an 8 year old girl.
Sorry for getting off-topic but felt it was important.

I raced home because there was audio and my heart sank when I heard Gimenez had scored. Very close to being a disaster. :(
It won't be easy in Basle but I think we'll pull through.

read what i wrote in the scotland forum, we didnt play well at all but we came out with a 3-1 win, i can be nothing but happy with that and we SHOULD play better in the second leg.
Gimenez's goal was soft our 2nd and 3rd were pure class.
